Yes!
If I go into your bag now and decide to throw away something i deem is rubbish, would you be happy???
They went into a LOCKED locker, its not like I left it open or forgot in the changing rooms. It is NOT their decision to make what is rubbish and what is not! In that case they could have deemed the jacket as rubbish too and thrown that, how do i know!
A more comparable comparison would be a bag I left in your car, with no notice of returning0 -

Were they just the kind of carrier bags which you can get from any supermarket, free?
Incidentally, the original post saidI had 10 items in my lockers - 7 of which were returned to me. 3 have mysteriously gone missing including my new hardly worn jacket. In regards to my missing items (bottle of water, 2 magazines, 2 empty carrier bags and a jacket)Competition wins: Where's Wally Goody Bag, Club badge branded football, Nivea for Men Goody Bag0 -

It would be my "duty of care" to return it to you, as I am sure there would be something in there with contacts.
That locker had an amazon receipt in there, in black and white with my address and contact number-they deemed that as rubbish too!0 -

Yes they were, but like I say, I have read their policy on this procedure and the only things they would dispose of is items for hygiene reasons, such as liquids, hairbrush, underwear ect. What if i left that bag in there for a reason? Perhaps I needed it to carry my gym items? They have no right to decide what they throw away from something that is locked. If its open and I forgot it, fair enough, they would clean out the lockers anyway.
But the other point is that they stated when they open 1.5 yrs ago it was okay to use overnight as not a lot of members but now they didnt feel a need to advertise to member about rules no overnight usage. How would I as a new member who joined in April be aware?0 -

So how far does it go?
how would you feel if you went to the gym and all the lockers were locked?
seems to me you failed the common sense test0 -
Tomwakefield, I have come here for advise, pardon me for forgetting one item in my original post due to being very angry at the Club! As you can understand.0

To be honest you had me onboard until you started quibbling about paying May. Accept it and then go on to report your missing jacket to the police. When reporting this, keep away from the trivial bits- complaining about missing carrier bags and a water bottle will make you look ridiculous and less likely to be taken seriously.weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0

Seems to me people dont read what I write!
I wrote it was okay to use the lockers overnight previously but this changed when I joined!
And I am sure if you had a new jacket that you hardly worn stolen, without any apology even! you wouldnt be sitting on the other side of the computer taking the clubs side!0 -

1) they steal my items on 7th May, without any effort to contact me!
2) Still to this day I have no apology
3) Missing carrier bags and water bottle are not trivial bits! If this is happening to these items, then why not to the rest of the missing items? (my jacket and magazines?) It is not the housekeeping decision to make! If they decide to throw away magazine, who is not to say they havent decided to throw away the jacket?
4) they admitted fault that this was documented as "clothes", when it should really be type of clothes, colour...ect.
5) They messed up sending me Terms and Conditions that I only received on 21st May - Now that I have received, read them I do not agree with them! (I have asked twice for it too, once 1st May and second time 17th May).
6) I have received poor level of customer service from their reception team, in regards to towels to add to my membership (long story!) messages were not passed on, no one called me back, no response to emails.
Now you tell me, why should I pay £60 for the WHOLE month of May for the above??0 -
so do you want advice or are just on for a rant?
By all means- report the missing freebie carrier bags to the police. Its an absolute scandal that the gym didn't offer to replace them.
Seriously, although I do think you should report your missing brand new jacket, I wonder if they will look for more proof. As it does seem strange that you left this behind.
A few years back, I lost a gold watch at the gym. I had left it in my gym bag in the locked locker.I looked everywhere for it and then decided it must have been stolen. I contacted the gym, who did investigate but I took it no further at the time because there was a possibility that I had maybe dropped it when changing. Six months later, I had to get my washing machine repaired- and there was my watch. It had been put in with my sweaty gym stuff and fallen through the drum.
It does seem strange that you walk out the gym without a jacket. So is there any chance that you did actually take it?weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0
