Navy Blue polo shirts-buy from school or not?

DS starts a new school in September and his uniform colour changes. I can buy navy blue logo-ed polo shirts from the school, but they are £8 each. My friend says they wash well and tbh I am fed up of the current white ones that can get filthy before we even leave the house in a morning and it would stop me doing things like giving him his 4yo sister shirts to wear by accident :o

But £8 for one. This would be in addition to the school sweatshirts I'll have to buy, and PE kit for the first time as well as kitting DD out for school as she starts reception.

I admit I've not noticed before, but how easy are navy polo shirts to buy elsewhere. I'm used to being able to pick up white polo shirts anywhere but navy ones???

To be honest I'd buy the ones from the school. There was only one little boy in my son's class who didn't have the logo'd shirt and he was picked on by the others for not being dressed properly.

Most of the children in my daughters class don't wear logo'd polo shirts, including her and this has never been a problem. I'd always get the sweatshirt though.

I bought my son 1 logo polo shirt for starting school - It was £6.50 he wore it for 3 years and now my other son wears it. We only wear polo shirts on Gym days and shirts and ties on all others. I think it is worth it as we have had plenty wear and it has washed well. I buy one logo sweatshirt too and on other days they wear grey school jumpers from M&S

Thanks glad Adams do them. In the winter he wears a sweatshirt over top which does have a logo and comes from the school, but I would prefer not to pay £8 on just one shirt.

I can't say I have ever seen Navy ones.

I have to buy all DD uniform from the school, except polo shirts (summer only). Everything, including trousers and pe kit must have the logo on. She is 12 and in secondary school.

I really begrudged paying £13 for black trousers with a logo when I could have got 2 pairs for that in Tesco. They have washed well and I've only bought her 2 pairs. I bought white blouses from M&S, trendy fitted 3/4 sleeve ones for £17 (on offer for 2) and a pack of 3 from Tesco for £1:T . She wears her trendy ones on PE day when they might be seen and the plain ones on other days.

Summer uniform is polo's. School sell them for £7.45 and local uniform shop for £7.99 but buy one get one 1/2 price. I bought 2 from each and the school ones are better quality but not as white. I bought big enough to last next summer as well hopefully.
