I'm having wedges for my august wedding - and changing into converse afterwards - Converse all the way girls x

:T I'm thinking of maybe getting a pair of wedges too (can't do stiletto type heels, but wedges are fine), as they would go lovely with my 50's style dress (if I ever get it, I'm having trouble with the sizing!). My Mam has just got a gorgeous pair, but I'm a 5 and she's a 6 :(

    Right I am decided!
Kitten heels for the ceremony, teal converse (to match my bridesmaids) for the rest of the day :D
    Thanks for all the suggestions.
And good luck and congratulations Georgiegirl256 for your big day coming soon, how exciting!
Are you on any other good wedding threads?

    Thanks Suzitiger! :)

Glad the threads helped you too, teal Converse sound awesome! The OHs tie is teal, and I have a little teal bolero to wear afterwards as the bolero that came with the dress is a wee bit small, and restricts my movements somewhat. There's no way I could eat in it, I can't even lift my arms up hardly! :rotfl:

I'm waiting until my Converse come, and then trying everything on together, and then I'll decide wether or not to get a little pair of kitten heels etc. I think everyone is abit dubious because I've said "I'm wearing trainers", and they've probably took it as my battered old Adidas or Nike ones! :rotfl:

I'm not really on any other wedding threads as such. There is one for June Brides, but as all the other girls have been on it for a year or two building up to their weddings, I'd feel like abit of an imposter just jumping in now!

Thought I'd drop in this thread quickly - me and my fiance are wearing converse to our wedding as we both live in them! We are wearing matching grey converse but mine will have a coloured ribbon through them! My bridesmaids are wearing shoes for the ceremony but I've asked them to bring their converse along for the reception. I just think the photos will be adorable and our wedding is VERY untraditional!

That's sounds fab! :D You're right, the photos will be awesome! My OH was going to wear either black or charcoal colour Converse, but chickened out! He does however love that I am though!

Well my Converse have turned up, and I love them! :D You could get customised laces for £5 and I thought 'why not?!', but now I'm not so sure, and as my OH and Mam have pointed out, I won't be Mrs McCumiskey until the ceremony is over obviously, which is true, and I'm also starting to think that they may look a little bit cheesy too! :rotfl:

She customised the back (it was an extra tenner and I had said I wasn't really that fussed about it) strip too, to make them even more blingyy as they are for my Wedding, which was really nice of her!

My Mam and Dad still aren't overly convinced, but they're from a more traditional era! I think they look cute and totally fit with the knee length dress!

That sounds awesome! :D What colour was your petticoat?

Was your dress like a 50's style short dress?

I'm thinking of going with a Vivienne of Holloway dress.

Sorry I have only just spotted this. :o Yes it was a 50's short dress with a turquoise petticoat. I had this one http://www.inspirationbridal.co.uk/short-wedding-dress/1310-1950s-1960s-inspiration-short-wedding-dress-with-polka-dot-tulle.html made by Inspiration Bridal. I love it!

I love your converse! Did the day go as planned? Congratulations!

Thanks! Yes, everything went to plan! :D

I love that dress, its gorgeous, i especially love the polka dots, infact, that is the actual one I would have went for if I'd had more time!
    Great minds think alike!

Do you have any photos of your wedding? I bet it looked stunning on, and really cool with Converse!
