Converse with Wedding Dress

After being engaged for a few years, we've finally got round to setting a date, and we just want it out of the way (I know that sounds terrible, but we are so not traditional, and things like this make us feel uncomfortable  ), dont get me wrong we want to be married, just really nervous of the ceremony, we hate a big fuss, and if you could get married "clicks fingers" just like that, that we'd probably do that :rotfl: Does anyone else feel/or felt like that?
It'll just be my parents and the OH's Mam at Gretna Green!
Anyhow, we've provisionally booked the date for the 24th June!
As I said, we're not traditional etc, so to feel comfortable, and stay with what's true to me, I've decided to wear Converse, and so has the OH. I don't want a big flouncy dress either, I've decided that short is definetly the way to go! Just curious on people's views etc, I've heard of people wearing Docs (I did consider that lol!) etc, and also what length dress (above knee, on knee etc) would look best?

Wear what you want, and you will look beautiful! If you have the knees of a carthorse however I would opt for covering them, best to try on the dress with the cons and see what you think, good luck!!0

you dont need mine or anyone elses opinion on the type of day you both want...but I will offer you many congratulations and all good wishes for the future
Now stop doubting yourself and go and plan the day you want...perhaps we could ask one thing of you once you've had the day....a pic or two perhaps???frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0 -
I'm not sure how our views would help. After all we're a bunch of strangers and you don't know us from Adam.
What I mean is, what our views are are so irrelevant. Some could like it, others wouldn't. Does this matter? Are you and your OH happy? Is it what you want?
For what its worth I broke my foot and so got some amazing AllStars in red, I love them, and that is all that matters to me.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

Not doubting myself, will definitely be wearing them, was just curious as to what other people thought. I love it when brides (and grooms!), go for something different and was just curious what others peoples views were and if anyone else was going for alternative footwear fom the norm.0 -

Then I'd maybe get your shoes first and use them as a guide when you go and try dresses on. That way you can pick a dress length you like with the shoes.

Yay! That's cool!I hope your foot heals soon though
Already ordered them off eBay, just deciding now wether I want the white or the purple. Thought I'd decided on the white but now after seeing photos of coloured Converse I'm edging towards that.
Btw, I love your signature!0 -

I had personalised ones made with our wedding date on the heel, in white and purple for me and black and purple for the OH. I thought I should have something to change into in case my feet started hurting and OH never wears anything other than trainers usually!
We were so caught up in the day though, that we completely forgot to change into them after our ceremony abroad but they were a god send at the reception in the UK when my feet started hurting! I got loads of complements on them too, I had a short dress so they were visibleCross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0
