Will your SN child present any travel difficulties? Easiest (as one has said) would be to follow signs in Piccadilly for the taxi rank, and pick up a black cab to take you directly to the hotel - but that obviously costs money. If you are more mobile, then I would personally suggest you follow the signs for the Metrolink tram, which you catch downstairs within Piccadilly. Get on a tram heading north - Bury or Rochdale, and get off at the third stop, which is Shudehill and then walk up the road.

eta. "Manchester Stations" doesn't get you onto the tram, you'd need to buy a separate tram ticket. Maybe bear that in mind in comparison to a taxi.

Do you know Band on the Wall? The music venue? That's the closest 'landmark' probably.

There's a huge office block, the CIS building that's nearby however I would just jump in a taxi as it's not that far.

At Piccadilly Station go down the escalators and the taxi rank is just there.

If I see you I'll give you a lift!

You can always ask people in Manchester for directions too, we're not as scary as we look, even the trendy types in the Northern Quarter!

Do you need any help getting to a hospital too? Is it the RMCH?

I'd walk it. Come out the station at the front main entrance/exit. Walk straight down following the crowds till you get to picadilly, continue in a straight line down market street (main shopping street) at the start you will see primark on your left and debenhams on your right. Once you get under the bridge with boots on your right go nderneath and turn right so you have m and s and selfridge s on your left. Continue till you pass next on your right and then continue over the road till you pass hard rock cafe on your right. Continue till you see urbis up ahead and just beyond that you are at Victoria station which is where the arena is.

That's literally ten - fifteen minutes walk...although if it was me I probably couldn't resists all the shops in between!

Just read the post below! Sorry thought you wanted directions to the arena! I'd still walk it its not that far, but I get so confused and impatient with trams and buses!

If she did that, she'd be in the wrong place! She's aiming for the new Holiday Inn just off Swan Street.
