Thanks for nothing

For weeks now, when I press the thanks button the screen refreshes and I am taken to the top of the page, and when I scroll down to the post I tried to thank There is no additional thankyou added.

Also when I click on to see who has thanked whom again the screen just refreshes and I am taken to the top of the page. When I scroll down the thanks bit is still closed so I cannot see who thanked whom.

When I used to hover the cursor over my or anyone elses username a little scroll down menu used to appear, with the options
"view profile"
"send message" etc

Now no such menu appears when hovering over the username - clicking the username takes me to their profile.

Also previously clicking "quick links" used to open a scroll through menu now no such menu appears and the screen refreshes and the "quick links" link has changed to read "open buddy list" clicking again on this will open the buddy list. To the left of "open buddy list" is a link called "mark forums read" which was not there previously.

Occasionally (once in a blue moon) it all does what it is supposed to do.

WTH is going on? Am I the only one to be experiencing this, I was biding my time hoping it would get fixed or that someone else would bring it up for discussion, but it is really getting on my tits now.

now u see i experience this problem with the thanks button while im at work and to be hoenst i think its down to the restrictions that have been imposed by out firewall, servers etc are u acessing this site from work?

I experience this from my home computer. I have no firewall currently. I also just noticed there is "error on page" message (bottom left of browser) just about all the time. I suppose it could be my dodgy computer doing this.

I get this same problem when I'm on my university wireless network but not at home, and yes it says error on page as well

Maybe it'll all be fixed when the new site comes out :T

I have the same issue in IE but not in Firefox on the same machine. I just put it down to me being extra secure in IE and not allowing anything other than the normal web page being displayed. I am techy but never followed it through because it's setup how I want it. (can't rememebr which of the original steps broke it.)

Does the smilies work correctly?

Do you have spybot/spyblaster or other such programs installed as these could have a impact on this site.

Your question should get re-directed to the techy section or do a search as I have seen similar before.

Bottom line, check browser settings and try disabling spy programs just to bottle it out.

This has been discussed many times before on here and the problem is most likely on your computer. Try pressing Ctrl + F5 to see if that sorts your problem of old cached files being used. Try altering your browser settings. Try running ccleaner to keep your computer clean, lean and crap free. Try using an alternative browser to prove if the problem is on your computer.

As you can see I just thanked you. That's because clearing the tif must have done the job.

No you won't, because it just started doing it again 5 mins after clearing the tif apparently had fixed it, it's back again. clearing the tif has not fixed it this time.

I'm going to retrace my steps on what I did last time and see if I can fix it.
