    My Nexus 4 doesn't get supe rhot, no more than any other high spec phone I've had at least.

    As for the original question, it's the LG Optimus G that is the same thing as the Nexus 4, the 4X HD is quite different.

    A more apt comparison in this case is the HTC One X and the 4X HD.

    Not quite true. It can be replaced and its not as hard as you think. I know it's not a case of slide the back cover off like most phones but it can be done.
