The weirdest present I've ever received was a giant roll of clingfilm (catering pack from Makro) from my mum. No idea what she was thinking...

As for my kids, well my sister-in-law had a habit of getting my kids exactly what we'd just bought them ourselves (or at least it was usually an inferior version). E.g. we got our son a tricycle and so did they. We got him a wooden train set and so did they. This year they went way overboard, though, and got him a bloody huge table-football set, which we have absolutely nowhere to store. It's currently propped up against the living-room wall and I'm wondering if I can surreptitiously take it to the tip without anybody noticing...

Im in hoots at this thread which isnt good when you have stitches in your stomach :rotfl:

My mum bought me an electric razor for Christmas when I was about 17 - it was clearly from poundstretcher or the likes and didn't even work :-/

My nana gave me a hairbrush

My uncle hates his mum/dad - for valid reasons. He sent them a packet of custard creams in the post for Christmas - I was laughing for days....bet they ate them too lol

An old flatmate/bf of my best mate gave me a few years out of date box of turkish delight....relegated to the bin!

My exboyfriend and father of my children didn't know what to get me for my 21st so asked a girl in his office for some advice. She asked what I liked, and he said 'she likes to be cosy and comfy'

So he gave me 2 ridiculously expensive cushions from The Pier, and yes they did go back! xx

A friend once gave me a twirl for Christmas. Strange but true.

I was a little offended as she had not stopped talking about something she had bought for another friend, an expensive plush toy.

A twirl as in a spin around on your heels or a chocolate bar? And she gave another friend a plush toy? How old were you all, 6?:p

Reading this, I have to say I have laughed me a$$ off! :rotfl:

Ok mine is...a chemise in size 16 peach nylon material with greying lace, torn in places...completely worn out, and french knickers in size 18...cream in colour...were meant to be white and the lace was again torn in places...Both worn many times over and I'm not even sure if they were washed before i was given them! Euwwwwww! I am a size 8, the lady who is a lonely neighbour and whom I like to visit just to make sure she is not left in complete isolation gave me these in a brown paper bag, like the ones in green grocers. I opened it, didn't take them out (as I have mild ocd - anything germs! ) showed them to my mum.

1980's m&s underwear my mum thought it was, around the time I was born - this was sold in shops, from what she remembered!

My neighbour that day, had came over, knocked and gave me this and came in for a cup of tea. Afterwards, I politely walked her back to her house, put this packet on her couch and said 'thank you but I appreciate your company and I do not wish for any gifts' I really meant that!

Now I get what her daughter meant by 'my tight mum' when she visit's her once a year, she said this to me and I did not say anything, of course.

( So everyone knows, this old lady is doing well, own half a million pound house, own car etc etc, always leaving £20 notes around her home...which I pick up and give to her and I hope her carers/ council staff who visit do the same too! )

her choice of gifts are a bit strange I'll say;)

I admit buying my wife a ironing board for xmas....So i deserved the gnome i suppose..

My husband bought me a "naked" ironing board cover. The heat of the iron makes his towel disappear to reveal his flaccid pen**. It's gross, the man is gross and couldn't be further from what I find attractive.

    It's this one :-

I still haven't replaced it six years on though.
