    Ninth Anniversary
I work for my DH and last wedding anniversary (15th) he bought me a bright pink Hi-Vis jacket with company name on back and my name on front. He was so proud of himself.

He did make up for it at Christmas with a Kitchenaid though!!!

My sister got given a pack of 3 tea-towels by her MIL one Christmas.

Her SIL & BIL gave everyone a memory stick with a 2-minute video of their two sons on a sleigh with a moving background. The background made everyone seasick, some tone-deaf numpty was singing Jingle Bells as accompaniment, and one of the kids was crying.

This is a hilarious thread. My late grandma, god bless her, bought me a chip pan - complete with the mesh basket I might add - for my 18th birthday. Not sure why as I didn't leave home til I was 23!!!Mind you I do still have it and use it now - 30 years on. So it did come in useful after all.

One of my aunts has been giving me tea towels, tomato slicers and various other household bits 'for my bottom drawer' since I was about 16! :rotfl: They come in handy now, mind you!

So. Many. Tea. Towels. Though. Let's just say that I'll never have to buy another tea towel as long as I live.

For a moment I was wondering why this ---->:rotfl: was appearing all over the place :D

My dad kindly reminded me earlier of a Mother's Day pressie I gave my mum, now bear in mind I was quite young :D a Mum roll on and deodorant spray...it said mum so in my amazing wisdom thought, hey this is a great gift for her :D

A few years later I saved up my pocket money and got her a mum locket to make up for it lol.

    Awwwwwwww :)

My husband bought me a "naked" ironing board cover. The heat of the iron makes his towel disappear to reveal his flaccid pen**. It's gross, the man is gross and couldn't be further from what I find attractive.

    It's this one :-

I still haven't replaced it six years on though.

Good Lord!!!! Even worse that it's flaccid lol!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:

When my daughter was at nursery, one of the kids sent out a gift list with their birthday party invitations. They lived in a nice big house, and obviously weren't short on cash, and became talk of the nursery for a couple of weeks over their cheek at the gift list - there was nothing under £25 on it, and most of the gifts were to be bought from ELC or Toys R Us, both of which were some distance away.
A group of us clubbed together, and bought a few items off the list between us, popping £10 in from each child, which we all though was more than enough. Child seemed very happy with her presents, party was great, all was well.
A few months later, my daughter had a birthday party at the local soft play centre, and above child was invited, as were a few others from nursery.
When we got home after the party, my daughter opened all of her presents, and she'd recieved some lovely things. However, above childs mum obviously thought that present buying was beneath her. She'd wrapped up a mini box of raisins, part of a pack of used colouring pens (IIRC, there were 12 out of the original 20) and a half used colouring book. It looked like she'd opened her daughters bedroom door, and grabbed the first things that came to hand from the floor! They were beautifully wrapped, mind you, with ribbon and bows and all sorts.

    wow

    just wow:(

I'd kill for pink hi-vis, mine are boring yellow.

My grandfather-in-law bought me a 'Hot Wheels' car for my birthday last year because I like cars. Not those type of cars though....the real thing! :o

Edit - Just remembered my sister bought me a whistle for the same birthday! Oh wow, my family are really bad at picking presents! :D

I haven't read the whole thread, but DH has just given me a Bug Zapper for my birthday.

Sure, it's cheap and nasty, but I LOVE it! The JOY when it flashes and sparks, and another bug hits the wires! :rotfl:
