Thank you - this thread has made me laugh so much!

Here are a two of my own 'favourite' naff presents:

The first time we met my fil's second wife-to-be was Christmas time. Her gift to my 7 month old son was a glass jar full of bull's eye boiled sweets!

My 21st birthday present from my mother and father was a suitcase, with a far from subtle hint that I would need it to leave home soon!

When my OH and I moved into a brand new house which needed the garden planted out, my mum sent my dad to the garden centre to get a nice conifer tree to give us as a house warming present. :T

    But....

There were no nice conifers, so my dad got us a bag of seed potatoes!!!!!

Oh well the garden was a mess, but at least we didn't go hungry.:rotfl:

For a moment I was wondering why this ---->:rotfl: was appearing all over the place :D

My dad kindly reminded me earlier of a Mother's Day pressie I gave my mum, now bear in mind I was quite young :D a Mum roll on and deodorant spray...it said mum so in my amazing wisdom thought, hey this is a great gift for her :D

A few years later I saved up my pocket money and got her a mum locket to make up for it lol.

On hearing that I was a Westlife fan when I was a child, my great aunt bought me a Westlife tribute band album for Christmas :-/
  • It was not really a present, but I remember it sticking massively in my mind.

Each time we passed under a motorway bridge I always wondered what was housed in the windows above it. I often asked my parents if we could drive off the slip road and have a look.

So my parents did one thing better. They arranged my birthday party there as a surprise.

So there I as with all my friends in a greasy spoon motorway caf!.

It was awful. My parents were so chuffed with themselves.
