Does it have to be diamond? You will get a far lovelier ring if you opt for different gemstones.

    It has to be.........

Why? If you only have that amount of cash how can she demand anything as you put it?

I know what my response would be and it wouldn't be to look for a ring.

Is there nothing better that money can go on?

I've got something very similar in yellow gold and after 15 years it still looks lovely and sparkly, only the other day my colleague commented on it.

    I'm sure she'll love it!

I would not say demanding one, she has hinted it at getting one for a few years, but we have not been able to afford it so gone without it as it none essential.

I have saved £50 since Christmas towards her birthday. cutting out on things like a coffee when i go to wacky warehouse with my little girl (taking my own) and walking instead of using the bus.

I have no dout that they could be something better to spend money on but Iv saved it for a birthday surprise, and once in a while its nice to have something none essential.

Go for it bro, I am sure she will love it all the more because of the commitment is means and the commitment you have shown.
