Opodo.... Over charged me help!!!

I booked 2 flights to Orlando via opodo on Saturday night
The cost was £1654.00 so I thought went through the booking stage and £1654.00 was the only price mentioned,
I took screen shots along the way instead of writing the cost date flight times etc. and have a screen shot showing the price I agreed to pay,
When I received the confirmation email it said total cost. £1995.00
I called them and emailed them there saying I agreed to pay £1995.00
I then sent them the screen shots and they said this is not proof,
Apparently I cannot get a refund!
I've been watching the price of these flights lately and everywhere they are £1654.00
What can I do, because as far as I see it they have stollen £341 from me!
Help any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks
Matt

Contact your card issuer and book direct from the airline next time.0

My bank said they can't stop the payment!
I thought opodo was a decent company!
I only booked through them as virgin Atlantic site wasn't working on my mobile,0 -

Yea got a screen shot of the final price
And it said the total amount charged is £1654.00
But the email confirmation said they took £1995 from my account!
It's so frustrating as they say the screen shot isn't proof!
They said there IT department will look in to what the screen said when I booked but u know there never gonna admit it,
I would not have paid £1995 for the tickets... I don't wanna go that much!!!
Going to call watchdog tomorrow I think0 -

It's unlikely to be VAT, commercial flights are zero rated.

maffcliff, if you go through the booking process again on Opodo (without actually completing it of course) does it show the lower price all the way through? If so I'd pursue the complaint, pointing out what their own system is showing - if you google WebCite you can make permanent copies of web pages that might help your case.0 -
it's probably a silly question - but you're sure you did not add any add-ons to the price (or more likely, you're sure you declined any add-ons automatically offered)? Though that would be a quite a lot of add-ons for 2 people for £330+.
if you're willing to share the dates/flights others could have a look and see what they see on their screens, just for reference.
I guess I can see a company saying screenshots aren't proof - it's been shown here before how you can manipulate these (or if not how - that it can be done by those who know what they are doing) but I wouldn't think this sort of thing happens very often - and I would be equally angry if it was our booking and the bottom line price we saw was so significantly different to what was charged.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
There was no add ons,
The dates are 10th July 13 to 21st flying virgin,
The price on virgin was and still is £825, as mentioned before I only booked on opodo because the virgin site wouldn't work on my phone,
It's so frustrating if I can remove my card details on the screen shots I will post them..
Thanks0 -
It probably doesn't help but I have just run it through to the page where you enter your card details and it does indeed confirm your original price.
I would dispute it with your bank and continue the complaint with them.
