  • It appears my emotive state may well have been down to the fact it is that time in the monthly cycle. Ordinarily it passes me by fairly unnoticed but that may well be down to the fact that the regular wine consumption would blur and soften any emotional imbalances!

With a calmer head today I have looked at my finances and seen that one of my card payments does not go out until after payday. This means I can borrow some money from next months more generous budget to go out and not have to use a credit card :T:T

Today is not an AFD and I am enjoying my first glass of wine in over 2 weeks :) it is going to my head already!

Phew, I was beginning to wonder if you were human with all your AF days.
Good to see you can occasionally step back and indulge but not go ott

    Have a great weekend

    Joanne
  • :rotfl: I am very human!! That's how I have got into the financial and wine pickle I [STRIKE]am[/STRIKE] was in!!

I think you need to look at your AFD tally for this month as you are doing an amazing job!

Have a good one yourself :D

  • Ouch don't like the headache I have this morning and I feel a bit nauseous :(

How did I function drinking at least double last nights amount daily??

Lost another 2lbs this week so happy with the weight loss and I am already noticing my clothes are a little looser :D

Need to pop to Lidl to hopefully get the turkey that's half price this weekend and do some housework. That's all planned so far today so may get to sit in the garden in the sun:)

  • Well you obviously have to be an early bird to catch the offers at LIDL - got there just before 10 and all the Turkey had gone :(

  • All my June CC statements are available and totting it all up I have paid off the grand amount amount of £100!

Actually it is better than I thought as I only started my journey at the end of May and had spent on the cards prior to then so thought it may have gone up!

Next month should look a lot better as there will be no spending on the cards and I will be making an overpayment :T

Someone has stolen the sun here this morning but hopefully it will be back later. I have downloaded a new pedometer App and want to try it out with a walk.

I have half a bottle of wine left in the fridge from Friday night which a couple of weeks ago would have been unheard of!! Things are changing for the better. I used to laugh at the tiny little bottles of wine wondering who on earth would buy such a paltry amount. Well I may be one of those people in the future as the new MSE side of me doesn't like the fact I am wasting things ;) I think I will have to freeze what I have left for cooking.

The grocery budget is somewhat astray but as long as I don't resort to credit I am OK. I am making a note of everything I buy and looking at it my normal budget from July onwards will be sufficient :)

Well done FBF, you really seem to be embracing the whole Money Saving and Health Improving mindset. Keep up the good work :j
  • Thanks I2U although I feel things starting to slip

I have spent and drunk more than I should have. Although on the positive side my diet is still on track, I have not spent on the credit cards and I am still within my target of AFDs and when I did drink it was within normal limits and significantly less than I used to.

I must keep posting on here though to keep on track. So today will definitely be a NSD and a AFD.

    Hiya FBF

I've slipped a bit on the booze - I've already missed my targt as I was planning to only have one 'alcoholic' day this month.

My money saving is also going a bit awry due to spends on the car I've been left feeling very despondent. However, things would have been much worse if I hadn't been monitoring and cutting back

    Keep on posting

  • Joanne I think we need to keep focussing on what we are actually achieving as we are making significant improvements.

I tend to be an 'all or nothing' kind of girl but this is about making life long sustainable changes so it needs a more pragmatic approach that sees a mistake or stumble not as failure and an excuse to give up.

I have in mind children learning to walk - they have to make a really conscious effort to try to walk and fall over but keep on getting up until eventually walking is something done without conscious thought.

I made a list in the first week of the benefits I was finding through not drinking. I am off to find that to give myself a reminder!

Today will be an AFD but ended up spending. However stuck to the diet so 2 out of 3 ain't bad - as Meatloaf would say!
