Why is it so difficult to leave 3?
I have spent literally hours trying to leave Three mobile. It must be easier to leave a cult than a phone company. You go through security details numerous times, the system is down, the department has closed. They are quite pleasant but the way they eat your time is criminal. I had 3 Three accounts to cancel and I needed a shave again after I finished with them...
Surely, OFT should insist that when pressing the option key - there is an option which says "I want a PAC code pronto". Time for Martin to take this on!
They don't stop even when you tell them you have signed up with some one else.

LOL Had this problem a few years back cancelling a dongle.
I had to send them 4 letters and 30+ calls before I finally received written confirmation of my cancellation. (and they still f-ed up by claiming a DD 5 months later, which resulted in more calls and a letter to get it refunded)
I wouldn't use 3 again if they were free.0 -
In my experience one person passes you to another. From customer support to a special 'about to cancel their contract team' to ....
I feel your pain. Really annoying.0 -

They like you? I have to say being offshore works agains them, but I find simply saying 'No thanks, I'd like my PAC number' works - but I might have to say it upwards of 15 times.
That said, I did go back later!0 -
Three's customer service is fine.
Their cancellations dept is terrible. Reason-
Because Three decided to start targeting them and threatening them with their job if they don't hit targets.
So say they let 50 people leave in a month, they are demoted and paid less (example)
Hence they are so adamant to waste your time and keep you on your contract no matter what.0 -
Maybe the best thing to tell Three is that you're moving abroad and you need to port your number to a prepaid provider such as Giffgaff.0

They were annoying when I cancelled my iPad data allowance. At one point he said "I just need to speak to my manager, are you okay to hold?" I thought he needed to ask something about how to cancel, so I said yes. Five minutes later he comes back with all these things to offer me.
I had to tell them about five times that the reason I was cancelling was because I now had an iPhone and had no reason to take my iPad out of the house, so didn't need a data contract any more. What will your verse be?

Have you ever chewed chewing gum? Have you ever stepped on a bit of chewing gum and tried to get it off your trainers?
Despie possibly enjoyed it when chewing the minty bit of gum, I be you wished it was banned when you are trying to get rid.
That's 3.0 -

Nice analogy and very accurate
They're my favourite network for reasonable prices and network quality, and nothing wrong with their customer service... until you want to leave. Then it goes downhill majorly. What will your verse be?
