Apology accepted Richard. Thanks for explaining.

Up here in the mountains the weatehr is very changeable - this morning it pis$$ed it down for three hours and our village was covered in clouds, couldn't see a hand in front of you; but within half an hour the rain stopped, the cloud cleared, the sun came out and everything dried up and now my husband is on the roof terrace sunbathing!

Sorry to go off topic, OP and I hope you manage to sort things out soon.

    Hi sdw,

To some extent I don't think you are going off topic.

Eighteen months ago we were in a desperate financial situation. We were working ourselves senseless trying to keep our heads above water and then along comes an over enthusiastic creditor and brings the whole lot crashing down around us.

We're free of debt, work is almost a holiday in itself compared to the demands of running a business and we've actually being able to enjoy a 10 day break at a friend's house in a beautiful little town in S.W Spain. At one time we could only dream about that. If things go according to plan we should be able to get back into business this year, a lot wiser than we've ever been.

If NME can get over the next few hurdles she'll be able to look forward to enjoying her life and family instead of dreading the alarm clock in the morning; that is, if she's sleeping at all, and I doubt that.

I also wanted to point out, that my op said 3 kids and a dog. I shamefully forgot to mention my beautiful stepdaughter that spends every weekend and holidays with us.

    Here we go...phone...

    NME,

    Im back.

The wonderful lady at CCCS deserves to have a wonderful weekend as she has just made mine.

She was professional and to the point, honest and kind.

Dh has just gone to put a deposit on the rented property.

She said that the property was reasonable considering the area and previous mortgage. I can also show examples of other similar (and even higher) rental properties to the OR if and when it comes to that.

We are just having to check the rental agreement to make sure that it does not exclude BRs at a later stage and we will then have to move again...

    NME,

What a fab way to start the weekend, you have done the hardest part, you won't believe how close you are to getting your life back until you've got it back; does that make sense? :D

I cannot believe what a roller coaster today has been. This morning I honestly felt suicidal. And now I feel like I have room to breathe.

Richard - you are quite right about sdw's post and the relevency of it. Dh has just been offered another job and when you talk of the relief at not having to run your own company, you are not wrong. The fact that we can take holiday time, which he has never done before, except when the baby was born, says it all.

It does seem weird reading that you are posting on this forum about bankruptcy about going on holiday. I thought that BRs were the lowest of the low....not allowed to crawl out from under a stone, lest we be reminded of our inadequacies and stupidity and greed.

Really - thank you so very very much. I even told the advisor at CCCS that you were lovely. Thanks xxx

Will hopefully be posting about some other nonsense tomorrow, but thanks for today.

    NME,

As I've said before, I'm not proud of being bankrupt but neither am I ashamed and anybody wanting to stick labels on me is going to need an awful lot of patience.

There are all sorts of reasons why people have to face the nightmare of bankruptcy and I think you'll find by reading the threads on this Forum that we all consider ourselves the equals of any other human being on planet Earth; just a little more battle hardened :rotfl:

Hope you have a great weekend,
