You've already made some of the most painful decisions, accepting the house has to go, accepting that bankruptcy may be inevitable; to a very large extent you've already accepted the most painful choices. Don't let yourself weaken when it'll very quickly start to get better for you.0

NME,
You've spent the last three years torturing yourselves over your financial situation, it's time you started to take it easier on yourselves. It's always easier looking at somebody else's situation than being mired in the sh1te yourself, so I appreciate that you're probably thinking it's easy for me to say. It is easy, I've been mired in the same situation that you're currently in; I've had the sleepless nights, the bad moods, the feeling that there's no way out but you are so close to getting your life back that it would be a tragedy if you lost the will to make the last few yards to the "finishing post"0 -
I don't quite understand why your house is unsuitable for a family of 5 if it's costing £2900. Surely the kids could share a room? & the youngest sleep in your room.
Can't you get rid of the dog? To a friend, relative, or with a sack, a stone & a large body of water - ok to a rescue centre. That would make finding somewhere else to live easier, & would cut down your bills. It really doesn't sound like you can afford such a luxury."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.
"I think I'll become an alcoholic," said Betty.0 -

I just have to say that given the situation of the OP I think your comment about the dog is unecessary and very insensitive...and I'm not a dog lover, but a people person.0 -

come on have a heart, if you've even read half of this thread you will know that this sort of comment is the last thing the OP wants ot hear. If you have nothing constructive to add then please leave the thread.BSC Member 59 - AD 29th March 2008

NME,
You're going to attract some comments from people who have nothing to offer and really are beneath contempt, please ignore them.

OK, it was a bit much.
The point remains pets are expensive, and, more importantly, it makes it far more difficult to find rental accommodation (which may cost more due to the LL wanting to cover any damage to his property)."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.

Guy I have reported your post to the mods.
You clearly have not read the OP correctly or else you would see why they can't stay in their house. Your dog comments are beneath contempt.
NME please ignore him and listen to what Richard has said, there is always some numptys about. Please try to keep calm and take it one small step at a time. Remember we are all here to lend a cyber shoulder to cry on.

NME,
Let us know how you get on with CCCS. I'm sure they'll probably say that the house you're looking at will be frowned upon, but they're not in your shoes. I would take the house, it's your only option at the moment and it'll give you time to start putting some workable plans into place.
All the best and keep logging on, remember you're not going to find a bigger concentration of people (apart from here of course http://bankruptcy.informe.com/index.php) who have lived through what you're contemplating, and come through it with a smile on our faces; er, well, maybe a grimmace at times.
