  • I just wanted to add that a friend of mine is a sister in the local a and e and her husband is a london cabbie and they cant afford to rent or buy around here either and they are on the housing list for the council and being subsidised by her parents.

I know I sound pathetic but this has been going on for 3 years and I cant take anymore. i cant see a way out that doesnt end up without us living miles from the schools or our families. I just dont think i can cope with much more of this. I really dont.

It may well be that given the area you're living in the O.R would be more sympathetic about the cost of housing but I think you should still expect at some time to have to move somewhere cheaper; if you go the bky route that is.

    NME,

Hang in there, you can do it, you just haven't been talking to the right people.

Nothing you've said is pathetic, believe me I know, lots of us on here have looked over the edge and wondered if it's worth carrying on, it is, there is a route to a better life.

I'm posting these quick in case you go off line

You're already starting to make progress, you're looking at a rented property, you've got an appointment with the CCCS; one small step at a time, forget the big picture for now

  • The house is on with 2 agencys, the other one viewed after we said we were interested. They are also interested, trust me its a bargain for around here. They have another family waiting to put a deposit down if we dont. i checked and sneekily rang the other agency to see if it was viewable. they told me they already had an interested party.

Thanks for being so kind, i feel really pathetic and useless.

You are not pathetic and useless, if you feel as though taking the house is your only way out then do it, at least it's cheaper than your mortgage

It could me months before you declare bankruptcy and presumably you'd take a 6 month lease on the place so even if the worst happens and you have to move out at some point you'll have getting on for a year to get yourself organised. The O.R wouldn't expect you to leave before the lease expired.
