If the plan does end up being adoption for any of them the local authority should supply a life story book and any contributions you can make should be gratefully received. Especially photos of fun times and little anecdotes about the children, Times you've had together and their parents as youngsters. And if you work with social workers etc and support the children and the plans for them (so long as you do) it is more likely direct contact Will be considered. Especially for a 7yr old. If not indirect should be a given - although that's between yourselves and the adopters not the children it keeps the channels of communication open.

Tough for all of you x

hi thanks for this i have a meeting with their social worker and i shall ask them about all the different options, i have a good relationship with them and beleive they are doing the best for the children, i think i assumed that adoption would be the end of our relationship with them, but if their is any possibilty of staying in contact even indirectly that would be amazing, so thanks for the advice xx

don't know if this is any help but went through this with my DS when he was young - one tip i was given is to lift the head of the beds - we used books under the legs and it definitely helped.
Eventually he was diagnosed as asthmatic and a nebuliser was the answer - like you i spent many middle of then nights steaming the bathroom - you have my sympathy!!!!

Been here too, DD from the age of almost 1 to 4 was very healthy all year round but when late december hit she would get a bad chest and 3 years on the trot we were in A&E with her with breathing problems. She was such a good kid that until she was really sick the doctors never believed she was ill. They said she was possibly asthmatic and prescribed nebs but she never needed them except for a few days a year. She then grew out of it and has no problems at all now.
    Morning all

DS (2.5yo) has recently developed a nighttime cough. He had lots of colds/sniffles etc since the start of the year so I originally thought it was that but it's persisting now with no sign of any accompanying cold symptoms.

Nothing like as bad as your DS though, poor you and him:eek: :(

Will be going to the dr when we get back and expect to be told it's asthma :(

Lapping up the sympathy y'all. Thanks.
DS is 10 now and is definitely better than he used to be,we've had many hospital day admissions with him because of this as his oxygen levels go low, but they always end up sending him home with no progress made.:(

They insist on giving him an inhaler which has no effect at all, but they don't seem to believe me. The last paeds doc seemed to think that its more of a trachea thing than a chest, but onwards we persist. I've been giving him manuka honey to see if that helps, might consider echinacea(sp?),anything natural to help alleviate the cough.

We so could do with some good weather, it would help so much.xx

I truly admire you so much for the way you are handling your RL situation. I hope and pray that there will be a good outcome - for the children and for you:)
