Spoke to the bank branch manager explained to them we wanted to cancel the cpa said we cant so told them what i had learned of here to which he went quiet but still said i was wrong .

also they told me to cancel a cpa it has to be done in writing and they have no record of my call either allthough there message says all calls are recorded for training puproses it doesnt make sense tbh i think the bank no they are wrong
You can see the level you are dealing with, they have completely contradicted themselves.

Get everything in writing and ensure you reference the calls you have made (and time of call if you know them even if it is "between 0930 and 1030")

OH are they in the deep brown stuff now.....

Fact is if you told the cheque center before speaking to the bank. Then that is the date that can be used by RBS.

TBH. talking to the branch is a waste of time.
You need the account holder, unless your bank account is a joint one.
If it is a joint account do not wait for them get on the phone now and chase them up.

yes i told the cheque centre before the bank that i no longer wanted them taking money from partners account.
yes i gathered that there just no help tbh.no its not joint its just in my partners name hes at work todaY but only in at 2 tommorow if hes in so hes going to call them tommorowand try and get some answers

Well I hope your letter to them included some punctuation, capital letters and paragraphs because your posts on here are a nightmare to read. The people who have being helping you must be patient saints, but I'm not. I have a son with quite severe dyslexia so I'm not knocking people who have difficulty in expressing themselves in writing, but hey, even a full stop (in the right place) might help.

    Hope your letter is successful.

Right get other half to give RBS the date that Cheque cneter were told to not take any more payments.
    Then get OH to.....
How do I stop automated debit card payments?
A: If you wish to stop a regular payment set up on your debit card you can speak to the Visa Debit Retailer Disputes team who are able to assist you.
    Visa Debit Retailer Disputes - 0845 366 0452
    Minicom - 0800 404 6160
    Calls may be recorded

If they are anything like us, this team will work till 22:00.

That should ensure that you are refunded for any debits (that were not processed before date) refunded back to Oh acc.
Get his to then transfer this money somewhere else.
Even if it means opening a savings acc.... Or hitting a ATM both before and after midnight to get as much cash as possible.

As Cheque center will try to take payments on a daily basis. So any funds in the account will be drawn against.
Yes you will get it back again, but its the days were its in authorisation that are the problem. As they take up all your available funds till they debit and you can then get RBS to refund.

Your OH may need to get quite firm, if they are reluctant to help. Although the disputes team will be well versed in dealing with these companies.

Also make sure he mentions COMPLAINT against the branch and anyone else that has told lies on stopping payments.
Never ASSUME anything its makes a
