There are only two companies you should consider..
Both of these are Free, the others you find on the Internet will scam you after making massive promises.
 CAB won't be much use.

I had a similar issue with money shop - as soon as cheque centre realise there is no money in your account they will be likely to hound you. I would suggest sending them a cease and desist letter for phone communication - you can find a template on google. After this it means that they should not contact you by phone and only via post.
In the cease and desist letter ask them to provide information on a payment plan as you are experiencing financial difficulty. Even include an income and expense sheet (you can download this from payplan website i believe) send this to them aswell and they should offer you a payment plan.
This all worked for me, it gave me breathing space to deal with my finances and everything else along with allowing me to set up a payment plan with written evidence nice and simple. I would agree that setting up a new bank account is worth doing as well.Doing the investigation work - you don't have time to do.0

PS- although things may seem a mess at the moment, they will get better you just need to stay strong and don't let them get you down in the dumps.

Ring the bank back. Tell them you want to STOP ALL payments to this company. While they may not be able to stop them. Because you have told them, they now have to refund you for any that debit after the date you spoke to them. You may need to call for refunds.
This relates to PSD (payment services directive)
The problem with these co's is they will take the money as soon as its in your account every time you get paid.
So either you need to move any money into a savings acc ASAP. Or as others have said open another acc elsewhere.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0

 Thats not strictly true,
Under the PSR 209 under section 55.3 you can remove the consent to CPA but you must advise your bank you wish to do this and before the payment revoke time period in section 67. Section 67.3 to 67.5 then covers the revoking of future CPA after the time period mentioned in 67.1 and 67.2 (agreement by both parties).0

Which is what I said.... You cannot claim back funds before the date the bank were informed.
But you could force them to use the 1st date when the rep gave incorrect advice... Which would be worth a complaint in my book) Given I deal With type of stuff day in day out....
Add in if the OP had spoken to the Cheque center and told them not to take anything further, or they wanted to set up a payment plan. They could use that date to get refunds on any payments after that date....
Of course you have to remember that the OP will still owe this money to the cheque center.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0

No, there is a succinct difference between "when you spoke to them" and when section 67 time period kicks in. You can speak to them but if the next payment is within the section 67 timeframe then they cannot stop that payment from occurring even if it's 24-48 hours later (after you spoke to them).
Of course all further CPA's will be cancelled after this time period.0

There is NO time period, in PSD. In relation to these types of payments.
It starts the moment you speak to either bank or company taking funds.
If anything has already been authorised. Then that cannot be returned.
Anything after the call/letter can be returned under PSD.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0

That was my point, the authorisation timeframe under section 67 would mean that a payment could go out of your account after you contact them (as it was authorised but not debited before the contact).0
