Oh - and people who don't READ the description properly then complain or back out of the auction. :wall:

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, had one such buyer last night and one last week.

The really annoying thing is they think if they say sorry it's not a problem.
  • Sellers that think its ok to put things like "i only post at weekends so your item may not be sent for 4 or 5 days, but dont worry this is 'normal'"

    eh ???

Great so i have to pay up straight away then wait over a week to get my item !!

My gripe is with buyers that think sellers are like them and don't have jobs or any other commitments and sit at their computers all day waiting for the "item sold" notification and then rush out to the post office straight away to send it    .

All my Ebay listings have a notice on them in big letters stating that the handling time could be up to 7 days and this is because of the type of work I do where I can be called out on a job at short notice and not get back home for a week.

At least with putting the forewarning on it gives you the option to continue with transaction or leave it and look elsewhere with better terms. I guess you are one on these people that bids on/buys items and then complains about the terms afterwards, Mishka.

Actually mr know-it-all , guess again. the terms for this sale came through with the invoice ( see i can use bold aswell  oooh and those)

This particular seller had NO postage info on the listing, i sell books on-line for a living and realise the restrictions involved with this and dont expect people to drop everything for a sale, equally why the hell should I sit about for a purchase that will turn up god-knows when.

I am one of those people that can accept when Im wrong, are you ??

  • "hi, do you have a buy-it-now price"

for f**k sake, don't you think i would have added it if i wanted it that way? can you see one? no? then there isn't one!!

So where does it says anything about that in your original moan? Answer: it doesn't! Conclusion: I ain't a mind-reader!

Where does it say in the OP , state your pet hates but make sure you give every detail as some idiot may come along and pick holes, be sure to justify everything you say.
Everyones story here has more to it than told but you thought you would be clever and pick on mine.

Perhaps if you cant read minds you should stop yourself from starting arguments, my dear.

My pet hate...overseas buyers who don't understand that Britain isn't the US or Europe. I've had US buyers ask me what this sterling stuff is the invoice mentions as they want to pay the same amount in dollars ..I've even had one argue that they wouldn't pay overseas rates for shipping as 'they' were American and therefore not overseas (that was for an item sold on ebay.uk).

The Europeans tend to be better, I do sometimes get asked to convert to Euros (no) but mainly they pay by paypal as my auction requires and that's that. I've got one at the moment though likely to be a problem. I only accept paypal for overseas buyers and I got an email from a Spanish registered buyer saying she was sending a cheque. I thought I would check, as there was a chance she had a UK address but she can't understand my messages and when she does respond she just says 'have sent money order' or sometimes she says 'have sent chik'..I asked whether she was sending it in sterling as I won't accept anythig I can't pay in normally and she just repeats she has sent a 'chik'. Obviously there is a chance that she does have a UK cheque book in Spain ..but I fear this is going to end badly. I'm going to try and find a Spanish speaker today to see if I can send her a message in her own language.

Then they mail you back with an offer or something and beg to buy your item, to which you politely respond, no thanks, it is an auction and then they don't even bid on it. What is the point!

Could you type out a message in English then put it through a free Translator. I'm sure google has one.

Glad to hear the other members of the snooze household get a nice little break every so often :D
