Ok, I've decided I'm going to get one of the latest Samsung ones, here is the model and the review

looks so good, I can't wait. I can only find it for £699 cheapest. Does anyone know where I can get it cheaper??

Will John Lewis do a Price match for me (so I can get the 5yr warranty?)

Is there any cashback sites that will get me this cheaper?

Take a look at this site....

    http://www.teleland.co.uk/item--Samsung-42-Plasma-HD-TV--SamsungPS42Q97HD.html

as you can see its a good price with 5yr warranty + free del. included..
    hope this helps....

Hi, thanks for the link, and that is a really good price and a great warranty.

Thing is, you can get it at tribal.co.uk for £708. if you enter the code PRICE15 at the till, apparently you get a £15 discount.

If you go through quidco too @ 2.75%, you get another £19 quid off making it only £674 delivered!!

I think that is a bargain price and yeah, I know about the warranty, but to be honest, I will have it covered on my home insurance which in effect is a warranty for as long as you want it!

Cheaper to go via Dixons, use £10 voucher 10JUNEAW & Quidco, only £669

Q96 is Dixons/Currys identical model, except for a cosmetic chrome strip, everything else is the same. (I'm sure they do it stop price matching)

I wanted the Philips Ambilight actually, it was my husband that wanted the Pioneer. They were both reduced in Currys to £1,299.

But he wouldn't have it that the Philips Ambilight was as nice as the Pioneer (& all the lads in the shop agreed with him:mad: ).

The Ambilight casts a back light of the main colour on the tv screen (how cool is that) on the wall behind:cool: . Susposed to be really nice to watch. But he wanted a brand name over toys (I think thats how he referred to it:rolleyes: ).

Anyway its really nice:D I think there're all fairy good anyway.
I'm not convinced the HD picture is that amazing. Compared to an old fat TV yes, but to an ordinary plasma no. But my husband says its because I've got bad eyesight, lol.

Er hello, your husband was clearly right - the ambilight thing is a complete gimmick........if a phillips and a pioneer were the same price, there is absolutely no contest!!!
