Best 42" TV for around £650-£700

One of the ones I mentioned above got quite a good review on trusted reviews here..

Curry's were doing a Phillips 42in LCD for just £699.99 not so long ago on 'sale' which means its probably still at that price around now - HDMI ports as well on the TV, bargin.

I was not willing to pay an extra £50 for preferencial delivery so it took 10 working days (Including last Bank holiday) but the set is excellent. They were also the cheapest i could find. Their pricing includes VAT and standard delivery. I realised that lots of on line retailers dont include the VAT in the pricing so results on Froogle and the like have to be double checked.

Communication was good plenty of emails and a telephone call the following day to confirm the order.

I've got the Samsung PS42C7HDX (same set as rwilts but matt-black finish instead of glossy black) and it's a very good telly. Got mine mounted on the wall now and it looks brilliant

With a couple of quick tweaks in the service menu the picture is even better

I got mine for £704 delivered a few months ago, but as has been mentioned already Samsung have just brought out some new models so these previous models will be dropping in price even more now

Looks like that model is no longer sold. Can only find the PS42Q97HDX for £712 :sad:

Your right, sorry about that I only had it last friday must have had the last one. I notice a few distributers now show it as discontinued / out of stock. If you are looking at the 97 i have read a lot that the newer model has an issue with its anti glare coating on the screen but I also read al lot about the q7 having buzzing problems and dodgy picture but mine has no such problems.

thanks guys, is the samsung tv that i linked at play.com for £699 delivered not pretty much the same as the samsung you are going on about?

it looks the same, can't be that different
