Today I have recieved a letter which read "THIS MATTER SHOULD BE GIVEN YOUR URGENT ATTENTION".This was from an appointed ' debt collection' company acting on behalf of a private parking firm after I did not pay a parking fine.
Has anybody else recieved letters of this kind and does any one have any legal advice.

For a start it's not a fine, and if you read other posts on here you will see that many other people have received these hollow and meaningless "threats". There is nothing to worry about,What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

All part of the scam. Here's a few of the Debt Collection Agencies (DCA) feeding off the carcass:
Roxburghe, Debt Recovery Plus, Zenith, Newlyn, CCS Collect, Claims Handling Direct, Parking Collection Services.
Check some of their letters out (and find yours) in this list of PPC and DCA typical letters:

Don't worry about this near-final stage of the scamPlease note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

This is highly unlikely to be sold-on. Usually, these fake "debt collectors" are just another arm of the PPC scam, so stop taking them so seriously and look at the recent threads here - you will probably find them discussed at length.0

Hello, I'm your 'friendly' debt collector, I will send you threatening letters, maybe even try and find a phone number and make empty threats down the phone. One thing I won't do is bother visiting or doing court. If you don't respond I might pass your file to the man on the desk over pretending to be a solicitor0
