12ms response time, and an ACER, which I believe is a good brand. I think it is worth the little bit extra.

I recently bought one of these and it's great, not a single dead pixel. Wish I'd done it ages ago as I now actually have room to work at my desk without losing most of it to an archaic CRT! :o

Wouldn't say the speakers are much to write home about but then I rarely use them and I probably don't have a decent sound card to start with. :D

NOt bad for the price. The price of TFT's is falling constantly at the minute, may be worth hanging off if your thinking of buying one.

    I bought a few days ago AG Neovo F419 19" TFT 12ms 500:1 (1280x1024) (Analogue/DVI) Monitor - Black (3 Years Warranty) from ebuyer
    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=55183

PC Pro Review (this review is for the older model 700:1 25ms i think)
    http://www.pcpro.co.uk/labs/52673/ag-neovo-f419.html?searchString=neovo+neovo#

    Just read those reviews:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?rb=9096614354&product_uid=55183&action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X3Jldmlld3M=&filter_display=both&filter_order=rating_useful&offset=50

Should be with me the next week, still have the option to cancel it if you advice me to or find a better/cheaper one.
The majority of 19 tft mentioned in here don't have the DVI option which i prefer
    and after it.

Coincidentally I've been looking at this model too. Gets very good reviews on CNet.com from users. I was also looking at the SyncMaster 173P (17" though) from Komplett.co.uk for £199 - nothing but good reviews and was £350 when they were first out.

If I splash out more though and find someone else who wants one I may go for the Dell Ultrasharp 1905FP

    http://accessories.euro.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?sku=21638&c=uk&l=en&cs=ukdhs1&category_id=211&first=true&page=productlisting.aspx

They are on offer until 27th buy one get 2nd half price making them £263.50 each. Very solid monitor with 90 degree swivel and 2 USBs.

However, I am paranoid about getting one delivered and finding it has dead pixels - my last one had a bright green one and it annoyed me. I am pretty sure Dell are good at taking stuff back if you are not happy.

EDIT : Just seen the above post - the AG Neovo F419 19" was the other one I am interested in too!!

Just thought I'd chip in here.. I bought one of the Neovos about 2 years ago, one with a video in - can't remember which model (F317 possibly?) but it was one with a plastic rather than glass screen). Got the thing hooked up to my VCR and with noisy tapes the thing kept hunting through all it's various inputs everytime it lost sync on the video. Not only that, but it even did it with DVDs if there were scenes with bright lights, explosions etc... Neovo told me this was normal, but the shop that sold it gave me a 50 quid discount so I shut up and lived with it.
There were also several dead pixels, so I was quite pleased when after a month or so it went wrong and I got a swap-out. For the next year I must have swapped the thing out 6 times until they stopped making them, so they were forced to upgrade me to an X17 AV. The X17 AV (although far higher spec) didn't have speakers like my original had, so they even threw in a set of speakers separately on the next swap-out! I've had the X17 AV for a few months now and I'm well pleased - it's got a glass screen, and the quality seems to be a lot better (no dead pixels).

Superb customer service from Neovo, but not sure about the quality. I'd stick with the higher end models or maybe go for a different brand if it were me.

Dell are annoying me. I ordered a 2005FPW TFT (20.5" UltraSharp Widescreen) and after going through the indian support to place my order waited for it to turn up. The delivery was quite fast but I noticed the monitor seemed to be a bit poorly assembled (i.e. you could see the metal inside the monitor if you looked down near the buttons area or to the right...The right plastic could also be 'pushed' forward slightly). Anyway I got that replaced and got a new one, again quite fast but the amount of time you spend with the indian support is ridiculous.

The second one turns up and the same problems, but this time you could see the backlights running along the bottom of the monitor! Also still could push the right side of the plastic in. But what really made me angry ws that when I was packing this second monitor to go back I noticed a few very light marks, possibly even scratches on the screen. I could not have caused these, I daren't touch the screen with anything, let alone scratch it!

Now waiting for yet another one to turn up, however Dell have said I can keep the one I currently have until I am happy with the replacement. Not that it's much use, I've gone back to using my CRT! You begin to get the feeling that no matter what they send the problems will still be there. Although I am looking at the possibility of getting the non widescreen version and some cash back if the next one is still poorly designed.

So if you get a good Dell TFT - Great. If not, get down to the gym so you can lift and pack monitors into boxes all day long!

(P.S I should note all monitors so far have been "brand new", I have told Dell I will not accept one refurb until I get a monitor I am happy with. If they don't like that, then they can put my payment back in my bank account :))

Mmmmm. Thanks for the above input. I think you are right about Dell's - you have to be lucky and get a good one. Reports and reviews are very varied. I also don't like their policy on dead pixels...their's an insteresting feature here :

    http://www.behardware.com/articles/519-4/lcd-screens-dead-pixels.html

Even though it's only a 17" I'm edging towards a Samsung SyncMaster 173P for £199 as I haven't seen a bad review of it. My local Comet seems to be selling off all it's Samsung models - but sold the 173P off for £185 before I realised what a quality monitor it was. From the above site it also seems that it has a no dead pixel warranty - though I am waiting for confirmation from Samsung. There is a big price jump up to the 193P... if anyone finds this cheap plase advice! :-)
