I think we ought to distinguish between a cheapie cheapie and a more better display... The main differences being:

    - resolution (on 19" it ought ot be at least 1280 x 1024)
    - refresh rate (should really be less than 16ms nowadays)
    - interface (got a great graphics card, then there ought to be DVI, not just VGA
    - warranty (should ideally be 3 years RTB...)

well, and lets not forget, there are huge differences in styling (that Aria, really looks bad, even its a bit on the cheap side...)

    just my 2 pence worths

I presume yours is an ACER from "also branded" comment about the TV tuner.

The spec of the Misco one is rather poor in comparision.

25ms response time against 16ms and ONLY VGA -- NO DVI !

  • I bought the aria monitor this week (I'm using it now!), thinking it was the best deal I could find - and that was before I saw this post. It's reassuring to know that it seems that I did get a good deal.

I have nothing but praise for the monitor, as well as aria. The monitor is fantastic - plays DVDs with no noticeable shadowing etc (and I'm not even using the DVI connection on it).

Aria were great - I placed the order last Monday just before lunch, and the monitor was delivered at 1030 on Tuesday - fantastic.

I suppose mine did cost more, in a sense, because I payed an extra £14.95 (plus VAT) for a dead pixel check - basically, aria unpack it and check that it is 100% working with no dead pixels (either stuck on or stuck off).

Monitor was £167 (+vat) and pixel check £14.95 (+vat), so total £213.80 with free delivery.
    Is it me?!
