Yup - I've been tempted to go for this screen several times but the styling puts me off everytime!
If only they had stuck with a very simple thin frame design alogn the lines of dabsvalue screens - then I'd go for it.

I bought the aria 19" with DVI over a month ago. Its a nice screen, stand doesnt have much tilt and turn but what you expect for under 200 notes. All these people looking at amazon and currys and the likes should be careful. AS the screens are low spec and crap refresh rates. Aria also offer a dead pixel check for just over a tenner. This will confirm that you have no dead pixels as under the tft rules, upto 7 dead pixels are allowed on shipping.0

what toss !
That reminds me of eg, people who spend more money on the outside of their head than on the inside, or on polishing their car instead of servicing it, or many other 'appearance' issues instead of what really matters.
How often have we been advised to spend the money on a decent monitor because that is what you spend you day looking at ie the screen not the buttons and frame???
Any way, I bought the Aria monitor this week too and it is superb, very impressed, oh, and 'the back is nice' too! (from cool runnings)0 -
regarding Arias 'dead pixel check' I had one done too - for peace of mind I guess - but having got the monitor up and running whats the liklihood of pixels 'dying' during normal use - any ideas anyone?0

The reason I find design important enough to not buy a monitor is because the styling is PART of what you see when you are using the screen!
A thick frame which varies in width because it takes attention away from the main screen!
I have noticed this on several screens at work - the ones with very thin, uniform width frames are much nicer to work with as they make the actual image much more prominent.
The thing I don't understand is that it would have been easier for Aria to put a simple thin black frame on the machine to give it a neutral look, and instead they've gone for something that is more complicated and actually ends up looking very 1980's.
I couldn't care less what something looks like if it is not part of the performance of the product - but in this case the design of a montor is part and parcel of how well it will project an image.

which I believe works out at £189.99, I think this will be extremely hard to be beaten as I have done a thorough search of all the sites I can think of, you can get cheaper monitors, but its the delivery that's the killer.
I just looked at the price and it says £179.99 with free delivery but 21ms response time.
Better for an extra tenner

12ms response time, and an ACER, which I believe is a good brand. I think it is worth the little bit extra.
What I would like to know is what is the refresh rate in old money, ie I know my current monitor runs at 85hz which is good, but does that matter with TFT monitors.0
