Its arrived!
Put wheels on and other bits very quickly - its nice and light and folds down pretty well.
Put Ralph in and pushed him up and down the kitchen, through the hallway and living room and he was quite happy to sit there and enjoy it. :T
Other little dog ran alongside wondering why he wasnt included I think.
Only thing we will do is add a thicker rug in it for him as the pretend sheepskin seat is quite hard for him.
Onwards an upwards, the big test will be when we actually go on hols.
I am so glad Ralph likes it. We put a bed pillow on the bottom of ours, and a small blanket. It made it lovely and snuggley.
Isnt it great that most folk do their upmost best for their beloved furkids. We are the lucky ones, as the love they give back is a 1000000 fold. It makes my heart sing, I just wish all furkids had great families, (we can but hope.)
Hope to see a picture once he is settled xxRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Oh, just seen this old thread of mine and how bad of me not to have updated in case anyone else was in same position.
WELL, we took the boys to Wales for a week and there is NO WAY we could have carried Ralph up and down those hills when his false legs started chaffing him.
So, into buggy, first journey was up a very very steep hill (OH was about 15 yards in front of me at that point with the other pooc on lead). It nearly killed me pushing up that hill, it was virtually perpendicular BUT I did it and then I pushed him all round Pembroke Castle, which was wonderful, normally one of us just sits outside with Ralph at places like that as he cant manage all the walking.
There was a cafe in the grounds so we let him out to have mooch and wee on the grass there and several people came up and asked me about the buggy. I noticed OH quite enjoyed this sort of positive attention.Coming out, a whole coach full of Japanese tourists were waving and taking photos of Ralph sitting upright and looking around quite regally.
SO, that was it really, by the end of the week, OH was quite happily pushing him around in it and Ralph was really pleased with himself. There were a couple of concerns. One is, if he sat his fat !!! too far back the pram could tip up backwards if you let go of the handle. This happened a couple of times and luckily I caught it both times. The other prob was the velcro sticky things that connected the seat to the frame would come undone quite frequently which meant the seat could move around.
But, hey, considering we took him over really tough terrain and along a beach in it, I think it worked well. Made such a difference to how much we could get out and where we could go - walking round towns and villages was lovely, never been able to do that together, had to take turns while one sat with Ralph.
Since then we have taken the buggie with us on outings and he has adapted totally to it and enjoys the attention. He has his photo taken virtually every time we go anywhere, but he loves all that anyway - OH not keen on that but accepts it.
So if anyone is considering a dog buggie for an elderly or disabled dog, certainly Id say go ahead0 -
