VENT: Barclaycard.

Options
My daughter received a Barclaycard today with £2500 credit. She has £7 weekly pocket money plus birthday and Christmas money. She has not asked for this card. There is no way she could repay £2500.
Barclaycard will be getting a tounge lashing from me in the morning.

How old is your daughter? This is very strange because am pretty sure credit cards are not sent out in this country unless you have applied for them. You are in the UK, right?

I'd be checking a few facts before you start kicking off...

Cards can't be sent out without an application...

You have to be 18 to apply and receve a credit card - how old is your daughter?

Don't forget that the person you are 'tongue lashing' will not be the person responsible for sending your daughter the card.

Something seriously wrong has happened here. Either your daughter has applied for this card (you don't say how old she is, but the £7 pocket money suggests she's fairly young) or, perhaps more worryingly, this is a case of identity theft but the criminal has stupidly used the details of a minor.

Rather than bang on about 'tongue lashings', you need to find out what's going on.

I agree with the above, before you rush in and give some poor CS rep a tongue lashing , better find out what has gone wrong.

If said daughter turns out to be five years old I'd find this a bit difficult to believe.

But is the OP ever going to come back with more details...? I feel it's unlikely.

OP refers to teenagers, "college girls" and preparation for uni in other posts. ;)
