A father (or mother, depends on circumstances) must make a contribution because the law states that and has in place the mechanisms by which to enforce it (not that it can get my ex to pay but that's another story!). But never before have I heard that a parents has to pay as a direct result of where they work. Or are you stating that he has been compelled to pay because his employer takes the care of its employee's children seriously? I had heard the armed forces came down particularly hard on their members refusing to support their children. Nice to see at least one employer not attempting to stand behind parents who won't face their responsibilities.
That is not what I meant at all, at no point did I say it was because of his job that he HAD to pay, because of his job it was easier for his ex to take advantage,he has paid from day 1 because he is a decent honest man and always will support her and we would never see her go without but £300 a month for 1 child is a lot.we previously had an agreement in place yet ex got greedy so went to CSA and they backdated so we ended up paying double with them taking £600-800 a month for nearly a year,as it comes out of his wages it meant his employer got involved and it made him look like he had been shirking his resonsibilites when he hadn't.0 -
OH spoke to CSA today if she does not continue at college after her exams in June then the payments will stop on the 31st Aug, if she leaves and gets a job it will straight away, they did say it also depends if OH's ex contacts and stops CB.we are on speaking terms and get on well, she plans to go travelling and we will help towards that and we would not see her struggle.0

You receive a collection schedule every 12 months - this will show what money will be taken, and when it will be taken.0 -

But does not guarantee that this will be the case, DD the amount can change as it is called for not sent, and by signing a DD you give the other party access to your account on that date, but not for a specific amount...
Which is why the CSA love the DD and not the SO, and they are in control not YOU... Gotta love the control freaks...0 -
They do seem to be a law unto themselves0

Sorry to jump on your thread but we are in the same situation.
So basically if the child has finished education in June then gets a job straightaway, the payments cease as soon as they get a job rather than 31st August?Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -
I think ch/ben continues till end of the term 31st august unless the student does over 24 hours of paid work a week.0

Legally yes, in real terms it stops when CB stops being paid, although we go back to the age old argument that the CSA uses CB as the qualifier even though NOTHING in law stipulates this is the case...
The minute ANY child starts full time employment, notify the CSA, in writing, sent recorded delivery followed by a phone call. This will create a date for change of circumstances and it CAN be backdated to this later when proved...0 -

Happy for you to jump on the thread if it can help.
CSA told my OH that when her last exam finished in June then the CSA continues until 31 Aug and if she gets work of 16 hours or more it stops straight away.
We still don't know what she is planning as OH asked her at weekend if she had applied for any visas and her reply was 'I am just thinking about it at the moment'
We will see but hopefully it will be clearer this week when she finishes her exams, although she has been a bit evasive as to when this is!!!!!0
