What do those with the same sized space do?

They jam the bins in the limited space available

No I'm not dumping in someone else's bin. You made me chuckle. The council provides one big bin for 6 families that live in the area. It's placed in a central point and we all have to drive to it. The council empty once a week. We all live down single lane dirt tracks that a normal big rubbish van couldn't drive along. It seemed strange at first but I like the system now.

I don't have a car either so this wouldn't work

Can't you do this too? Sure, it might not be ideal but if others with the same size bins and the same size space manage, then that suggests it's a manageable situation.

Have you spoken to those in the same position as you? Are they equally annoyed about this?

Yes I have had to do it. I looked at other houses today . Most have more space than I do as I have a shallow raised flower bed between my front window and garden wall.

Of course I can walk half a mile but not while carrying the contents of my bins
