yet another odd buyer

The background to this is an item listed on my private account that fininshed last night. Starting price £9.99 finished £18.01.
I have an email this morning as follows:
FACT: You listed this at £9.99 and I bid straight away
FACT: I was the only bidder throughout the auction, you had no other interest at all
FACT: suddenly in closing moments you outbid me
FACT: you are a shiller and a scam man
FACT : when you offer me the item as a second chance I will expect to pay only £9.99 which was the true winning bid
FACT: you are reported to ebay so watch your account go
The obvious flaw to the argument is of course that to have reached the £18.01 there were in fact two new bidders.
How I wish I had the courage to email back and say ' thank you for your concern, however my buyer has now paid and item will be shipped today'

Oh, another email- less than 25 minutes after the fist one.
'The item is mine by rights, if you send me a invoice now I will pay by close of business tonight and may re-consider reporting you. I am angry that you tried to scam me, I need that item and you know how difficult it is to get but I will not be scammed like this- my bid was in for 10 days and the item is mine.'I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. What worries me is that I think this person believes what they've said to you...they genuinely think they're right....0

Oh poor you Soolin you do seem to be having a rough time of it lately, you have my sympathies..
So many buyers seen to have an unrealistic view of ebay these days and think every seller is out to scam them.0 -
Block them. Sounds like a nutter to me!0

What a nutter!
I would be tempted to reply saying something like:
I'm sorry that you are dissapointed for having lost, but as is the nature with auctions, many people bid at the last moment.
The winning bidder has paid for the item, so I will not be able to give you a second chance offer.0 -
These are the associated risks of buying and selling on eBay unfortunately.
Any loon with Internet access can open an account.0 -

Report him first

The send an email along the following lines:
"Thank you for your concern, however I would like to assure you the the auction was fair and run according to ebay rules. The item has been paid for and has been shipped.
I have reported your emails to ebay as I believe they contravene several of ebay's policies. "0 -
also might be worth sending a copy of the messages to ebay stating your worrys and then the person might get a warning from ebay to tone it down ,0
-
and can you please pm us all to add this loony to our blocked bidders list!if i had known then what i know now0

This is absolutely brilliant! Thanks for cheering up my day. :rotfl:
Either this is a total wind up, or this person is missing a few brain cells!
Sorry you had this, but I'm sure you're thick-skinned enough to treat it with the contempt it deserves. Unfortunately, I could see that someone less experienced would get really upset at receiving emails like that, so feel you really should report him to Ebay.0
