The dangers of a strong currency

So idiotic behaviour all round then.
Indeed.Just goes to show that a single currency is an unworkable idea without total fiscal and economic union.
The single currency was supposed to be a stepping stone towards greater fiscal and economic union. You can't blame a currency for the failure of leaders to achieve what they set out to do in a timely manner.
As I've said many times, the solution is a United States of Europe.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

You're beginning to sound like Nigel Farage.
Damn.
Hoping you hadn't noticed.
[Looks through UKIP PR manual]

I believe that is not what the vast majority of people living in Europe want though. I know I would hate the idea.0 -

You are correct it isn't the currency's fault it is the politicians for embarking on widely ambitious programmes with little long term planning, no change there.
Why do we need a USE?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

How about, don't fancy my taxation being decided by a Greek politician.
So as always this seems to boil down to "them and us".
Not a terribly good reason, tbh.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

I just prefer a more local approach where (in theory) I have a little more say and have a better chance of expressing an opinion through an election.
Would you fancy a Greek or Cypriot politco as EU chancellor deciding on economic policy?0 -
quite clear then
all the world's economic problems will be solved if everyone devalues0 -

You should buy a small island and try to secede from Britain then.
What could give you more say than an electorate of one?“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
