Suppose we're lucky in that we don't hear a lot from next door but maybe if we did, 8 am weekdays . 9, weekends for vacuuming . Same for mowing the lawn . We wouldn't be doing noisy jobs indoors after 7pm or outdoors as there are families with young children nearby . I know sometimes people do have to do stuff at odd hours so wouldn't complain to them . Most annoying thing over the years have been neighbours who let their dog out to bark for ages at 7.30am every day for a few years . She replied that she wouldn't change her routine for letting dog out in response to our polite request for a little lie in on a Sunday . Other neighbours built a new house and noisy work started 7.30 every day for months .

9am for outside stuff. I would Hoover anytime, but we have a 3' thick wall between us and next door, can't hear anything through it!

What is considered reasonable varies depending on where you live but with a quick internet search I couldn't anywhere later than 7:30 pm on a week day.

I see one of those quotes is from NI - how the hell are we meant to get any DIY work done with those restrictions.

I get home from work at 6.20 (at the earliest) every evening - so gives me 40mins to get noisy work done!
My husband works most Saturdays from 8-4 (Home at 4.45) so if its something that takes the 2 of us to do it it will never get done as we can't make noise on a sunday!

If I cut the grass in the evening - I would generally start it around 7.30pm after I've had my dinner.

Hoovering - is also after 7.30 ish or sometimes if I am having visitors that evening the hoovering will be done in the morning before I leave for work (around 8am)

I do have lovely neighbours though and if any of they minded they would say.

I do remember when i moved in - I was guilty of doing diy very late at night - stopping around 10pm as I desperately need curtain rails to be up!
