I live in a farming community.....grass cutting on an epic scale (silage) goes on round the clock for a few days when needed a few times of year.

Personally I wouldn't cut our house lawn or use outdoor equipment until eight am. By then any one in ear shot has woken up to the milking, the cows coming in and going out, the roosters going bananas, etc etc etc

If people couldn't do things like lawn cuttin before ten, or even nine, that leaves a lot on the plate for their evenings to clear at weekends...when they could, if they chose, be doing more interesting things!

I want to live where you do, it sounds lovely!

I would say 9am weekdays, 10am weekends, luckily we have thick walls here and my nice neighbours are half deaf, my other neighbours are morons who make more noise than the rest of the street put together so I can hoover early if need be.

I've vacuumed at 2am.. through necessity.

Half my neighbours work nights the other half work days.. the other side they are students so keep their own hours.. as a result I vacuum whenever I like.. someone will be asleep somewhere close by.

I don't mince the grass.. OH usually does it in an afternoon.

Not if they do shifts like mine (6am-2pm). Leaves plenty of time without encroaching into the evening x

I'm another that thinks 9am on a weekday, 10am on weekends, is early enough for any noisy household item.

Developing the question, how late is too late? For me it would be 9pm/10pm too. (ETA. someone else asked the same question while I was typing this!)

I know my neighbours are out of the house from 8.30 so they must get up some time before that to get their young children ready. So I wouldn't worry about hoovering from about 8am onwards during the week.

I don't have a lawn but I suppose I would wait until 9am at the weekends for that.

I wouldn't start to do jobs that made noise and could disrupt others till around 10am. I think that just shows some consideration and thought.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

mowing the lawn? when its dark (because it would be bloomin dangerous). Seriously, around 8pm I guess.

Hoovering? As late as you like really, I can honestly say hoovering noise doesn't bother me or my daughter, it never has.

Although it depends on your environment, in my opinion, 9pm or 10pm is far to late to be mowing the lawn. I don't do it after 7pm out of consideration for my neighbour's young children.

I'll hoover whenever I want because nobody else is going to hear it.
