What time is too early?

I was curious as to what time you would consider to be too early to mow the lawn and also what time too early to hover the house?
I woke up the other morning at 7.30am because a neighbour about two houses down was mowing the lawn. Personally I think that's too early, I sometimes work lates as well which does'nt help.
Twice recently the house we're joined on to have woken me up at 8.00am hovering. Maybe it's just me but I know I would'nt do either of the above at those times.

I wouldn't do either of those things before 9am but then I'm not an insomniac or a selfish and inconsiderate a-hole0

I would 9am is the earliest I would mow the lawn - the earliest I have hoovered was 8.45am on a weekdayMFW!

Anytime before 10am.
Yes, I don't get up until 10am. I find people mowing the lawn before then irksome.0 -
Maybe consider earplugs? to be honest I would expect that most working people are up by 7:30 on a weekday - if it were every Sunday it would be different.
If they work long hours it may well be the only daylight time they have to do the chores.
I do sympathize, having worked the graveyard shift (7pm -5 or 6 am!) for several years.Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

midweek when a lot of families are up and getting out anyway for work, school etc at 7.30am, I don't think thats too early for mowing the lawn (I admire their enthusiasm to be honest).
8am hoovering - again, midweek I wouldn't have a problem with that. I have to ask though - do you have really thin walls and single glazed windows?0 -

Far too early. Not every one gets up for work or does school runs. In my opinion 9am during the week and 10am at weekends. xWins in 2013 - Jan - Heinz No Noise Ketchup.0 -
I live in a farming community.....grass cutting on an epic scale (silage) goes on round the clock for a few days when needed a few times of year.
Personally I wouldn't cut our house lawn or use outdoor equipment until eight am. By then any one in ear shot has woken up to the milking, the cows coming in and going out, the roosters going bananas, etc etc etc
If people couldn't do things like lawn cuttin before ten, or even nine, that leaves a lot on the plate for their evenings to clear at weekends...when they could, if they chose, be doing more interesting things!0 -
I think hoovering is OK from 8am (9am at weekends), lawn-mowing from about 9am.
We used to have neighbours who liked using screechy power tools from about 7.30 at weekends, and playing the same Shakin' Stevens album over and over while they worked :eek:0 -
I dont think I could really begrudge a hover but I think mowing the lawn at 7:30 is a tad excessive esp since its the whole neighbourhood that can hear it not just one either side...People don't know what they want until you show them.0
