Help! non traditional wedding dress

Once I had got my head around the fact that I didn't have to wear white or something 'traditional weddingy' I opted for a blue and cream dress from phase 8 which I picked up from house of fraser during one of their many sales. It might be worth looking through their website to see if they have something that catches your eye.
Viviene of Holloway dresses are lovely too, and you can order online and post back if you aren't able to go to shop in person.0 -
I would try the 50s dress, being tall you'll be able to show off those legs! Above all though, try on as many different styles as you can, it's the best way to find out.
A dress I bought as a back up in case I didn't find something was in the Monsoon sale, it was a lovely silvery colour, in fact, very much like this one
You could go for something that is in colour, but a bit OTT for a ball. Floaty things defnitely have that weddingy thing going on. The website Offbeat Bride has all sorts of funky dresses too, great for inspiration!0 -
People keep asking me if i'm sure I don't want to just try on a white dress to see, I might regret it etc...but I always said I'd get married in purple, and I don't want to go back on it! I've had a couple of wobbles, but I just met the lady who's going to be making my dress and now I'm pretty darn excited again :j
We're having a pretty casual wedding anyway, so I'll be in a 50s style one rather than an evening gown, but with a petticoat and layers etc, so I'll still definitely be the bride!0 -
Wow, just wow. Thanks so much girls and guys. I went for a quick wine after work and made dinner and now I have all these ideas!!! I love a lot of the dresses, I hadn't thought of coast and have never looked at vivienne of holloway - LOVE. It's also so lovely to know so many other people have gone for a coloured dress or something not big and white and still felt and looked bridal. *gush*0

As far as non-traditional goes, I like (and perhaps you will too):

I am planning on getting mine handmade by a designer on Etsy called Larimeloom. Her dresses cost about £350 which I think is amazing for a one of a kind dress.
I seriously considered buying something from this site instead though...these are amazing!
