As soon as I get her and she's had some quiet time which she will no doubt need after travelling a few hundred miles today and on Sunday, I will take & post a photo of her. Lady from rescue is calling when she's 20 minutes away so just waiting for the call, shoes etc all on ready :D

These will be her new pals (hopefully) both also rescues, they aren't supposed to be on the sofas but like DP says I am too soft with them, make my cream leather sofas need cleaning a bit more often tho  . One was taken as the owner was going to just throw him out onto the streets when he was 6 months old (lab x on the left) he's now 3, the mixup x on the right is Holly, she came to us the day before Xmas eve after a friend of mine caught her owner trying to shoot her because they didn't want her, she was 12 weeks old then. Neither of them had to spend time in rescues as we took them on, intention was initially to rehome them, can you see the pattern here?! My partners always said he's pleased we don't have a bigger house, I already end up with too many animals and he'd be outnumbered, since the dogs however haven't taken on small animals since.
One day I might be more organised...........

I think i'm going to cry... Our 1st rescue rotti lived til the grand age of 12 (not bad as she was badly abused from a puppy and hubby went & got her ) as we had two small children next dog we went for a rotti puppy who we had until a year today when she had to be put to sleep (she was only 4 )
I would love another dog but due to work committments it just would not be fair..I really admire you for all that you've done and I hope the meet & greet goes well. I 'll be thinking of you.

Did I miss it but was the dog a police dog?

It's nice to see people taking in rescue dogs rather then through ads or breeders :p

Yes she was a police dog, fully trained but never used for the job, she was a breeding dog, anyway here she is

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/lil_me/DSC00261.jpg excuse the mess rolleyes.gif

She's home. So far so good, she's actually been the bossy one. Puppy wants to play and keeps getting told off. Seeing her bounce around the field with them when we brought her back, she won every time at fetch lol.gif it's like she's a pup again herself. In all honesty I think the other 2 are scared of her, she is much bigger than them, they go for a sneaky sniff then run away lol.gif

On the way home we took her to see my partners Dad who was her original handler, we didn't think she would recognise him but boy did she, she went absolutely crackers as soon as she seen him, not a response we've seen her show up to now but he did have her a longer time and was with her 24/7 from being a pup until we got her. Other thing is she remembers a LOT of her training, especially when she was with him, from commands to speak etc and walking to hand, was amazing to see, we couldn't believe it. This is a good thing when keeping her in check but we'll also have to be very careful, the training was full police training, inc bringing people down, she took a dislike to a guy in the pet shop who had a cast on unsure.gif (they are trained on those sleeves, quite similar to a cast, wooops) we're going to have to keep an eye on her.

Awwww, wonderful photo, she looks so well. So pleased it all worked out.
My mum rescued a German Shepherd from Battersea 4yrs ago. She named her Daisy and she's a treasure. My parents have worked with the breed and the police for many years and were involved in dog trials etc, heaps of rosettes but now they are older they decided to take in a rescue.
A very disobedient pup, but much better now she's older.

    Oh she is handsome!

Sounds like everything is going well then. if the others have accepted that she is in charge and everyone is happy, then hopefully there will be no problems.

Amazing how they can remember people and training for so long!

    She's gorgeous!

Once again, well done you for going to all this effort for her. Not many people would do that. What a star :T :D

What a relief that the dogs are getting along. Phew! And she properly trained too. Bonus  (Can she give a few lessons to my delinquent crew? )

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.
