The 4-pack was £2.63 before being reduced to £2

Surely that is an opportunity to use double-the-difference to receive as many six-packs as you can manage for 26p?

And in the original article - what is wrong with two packs of £2.19 rice being sold for £2? I don't understand the problem. That appears to be a genuine offer (unless they are 250g packs.)

Its a good offer, but its wrong that buying 2 is cheaper than 1, its encouraging waste.

    It's not £2.29/litre, it's £2.29/75Oml

I guess the price used to be above it, that's how it's a price drop..

I don't think there is a problem with beef and lamb - everybody knows the dishonesty of the 'British' moniker and only ever buys Welsh or Scottish or New Zealand - they know not to buy British. The trouble is pork is still often sold as British when it is 'really' British - so it can be next to impossible to buy pork if you do want native pork.

Edit: Hmm, just re-read your post - I misread what you were saying. You appear to be suggesting that 'British' means something - it doesn't. "Contains 100% British beef " does not need to contain what a casual reader thinks that means.

Edit: Hmm, again. You don't seem to have grasped the point of Dlusman's point (#6), either!

My comments were aimed at "100% British Beef" does not mean the product is 100% beef as jobdone1 / Qwiksave interpreted it as meaning.

As you can get 100% meat burgers, I can see how it can be misleading, however I used a sausage roll as a example no one would expect it to be 100% meat. But companies will put on the packaging "100% pork from Uk". etc.
I do not feel people would be mislead by these claims.

I fully understand what dlusmans was saying. I was not commenting about what he Dlusman said.

And finally, a great deal from Asda (previous 2 were Tesco and the breakfast was Baguette Express).

I've been to check the box of burgers and the one on the left does say 79% beef in the list of contents. We really have to keep our eyes open when we shop.

    2.0 lb for £2.00 (79% beef)

    1.5 lb for £2.00 (100% beef)

you still get more beef burger for your money with the £1 boxes.

If you value quantity over quality/taste then yes - go for the £1 boxes ( there is no argument from anyone on that point ).
