Not sure about places round Hopton to eat, but Black rock grill at Potters holiday village is awesome!
You get a hot rock and cook your meat yourself on the rock. The quality of meat and fish is really good and for the main course its all you can eat!
But its not cheap.
Oh wow that place looks amazing! Unfortunately maybe a little too expensive for the five of uswill keep it saved if I ever visit without the children!

Hi again
Just to say that the Hopton Haven site is by far the nicest site in the areaI've had day passes due to friends working there - you have definately chosen a good one!
Black Rock Grill at Potters Leisure Resort in Hopton is simply delicious
In between Hopton and Gorleston is the Toby Carvery - very yummy and good prices
Really would recommend you pick Pleasurewood Hills over Pleasure Beach though as I fear it will disappoint - you certainly can't spend all day there although I guess you could also spend part of the day at the rest of the seaside.MFW!

Thankis for that, it's reassuring to know its a nice park as you never know when you book! Definitely looking forward to it more now!
We have ordered both the wristbands for the pleasure beach and tickets for pleasurewood hills, then we can make a decision depending on weather etc to which ones we use.
Hopefully we can have another break later on in the year to use whatever we have left.
I would have loved to go to black rock but as I said its just a bit pricey for five, Toby carvery are always a good option, any other local restaurant recommendations?0 -
There is a harvester and beefeater in Lowerstoft which are really nice they are close to each other , there are usually offers sign up to there newsletters, no real branded pubs in Yarmouth apart from toby at gorleston , there is a wetherspoons but not the nicest place to go seems a bit rough in there0

Used to be loads of cafes/restaurants along the seafront at Great Yarmouth if I remember correctly. Quite a few up the end opposite/near the Pier? Britannia? I seem to remember them all having boards outside and all used to be fairly good value for money. This was years ago mind so they might not be there anymore
Is the Winter Gardens/palace place still there? They used to have entertainment in there too.
We are definitely going greyhound racing. My two will get in free as DS1 is 7 and DS2 is 4. Has anyone got any recommendations for good places to eat in the evening, one that's suitable for children but serves more than chips! And one that won't break the bank, if that's possible?!:rotfl:
We are off to Great Yarmouth this week and I've been looking for places to eat. The Troll cart a wetherspoons has good reviews and prices very reasonable.0 -
for cheap cheerful cafe try Rogers. Set just back from the front near the Circus ( to the left if looking from the front). You can see the huge sign on the side of the building from the front.
it is a cafe, but the potions are good and more importantly they are cheap. They do meal deals that we always use to feed our family of six.
Think we paid about 15 for us to eat in there earlier in yr, which is pretty reasonable IMHO.
It is a fish and chips shop or cafe but with and all day breakfast at 2.85, I find that price hard to beat so the choice is yours.

I'm going to Great Yarmouth tomorrow too, haven Caister. Im planning (if the weather stays nice) to hire a boat for a few hrs, bewilderwood, pleasure beach, dinosaur adventure park and time and tide museum. Also the beach and swimming aswell as stuff on site to do. I like Caister site we went there for a weekend last year and enjoyed it0
