Bank holiday in Great Yarmouth

Hi all, looking for some advice to keep three children aged 8-11 and a husband amused as cheaply as possible! I have managed to book us cheap bank holiday weekend in a caravan, we don't know the area and would be grateful for any local knowledge!
I have had a look online and have found a £1 off pleasure beach wristband, is there enough there to keep children occupied/worth the money?
Does anyone know of anywhere to look for local vouchers? Or any other good days out?
Thanks for reading!

If you have Tesco clubcard vouchers you can exchange these for Pleasure Beach admission.
Although older than your 2 my 15yr old managed to stay there a full day in the freezing cold at EasterSPC 5 no. 1518Grand total £395.300 -
Normally in the EDP there is a magazine about whats on over bank holidays and they normally have some discount vouchers inside.
There is plenty to keep the kids busy for a day at the pleasure beach with a wristband as long as they like rides.
At that age I went there with my brother and cousin. We were each bought a wristband and spent all day on all the rides, it was great fun.
If you have a car there are some nice nature reserves around Norfolk which are often cheap or free. There are lots of broads that you can visit. Which while there is not much to do its realy beautiful and normally very peaceful. There is a nice pub at Ranworth (the maltsters) next to the broads and there is a nice nature reserve a little walk away.

Thanks for the replies, great ideas. We don't have any tesco points unfortunately but we have a car and are taking our dog so the nature reserves sound like a great idea and a cheaper option.0

What site have you booked? I've got a caravan in Great Yarmouth and I know most of the sites around there. The sites will have day out ideas in their reception areas. Trouble with Great Yarmouth is that everything costs money. Unless you like beach or country walks there isn't much free stuff to do. Or fishing? In scratby which is a village near Yarmouth there is a donkey sanctuary which is free and they have a few other animals in there .0

I'm taking my two boys there the following weekend. We are staying at the Haven Site in Hopton.
I was thinking about taking them greyhound racing on the Friday night. Do they still have stock car racing on Saturdays and is it expensive?
I used to go there when I was little all the time. If the weather is good the beach is great and the seafront is pretty long for a walk along. I seem to remember they have the worst waxworks ever?MBNA [STRIKE]£2,029[/STRIKE] £1,145 Virgin [STRIKE]£8,712[/STRIKE] £7,957 Sainsbury [STRIKE]£6,870[/STRIKE] £5,575 M&S [STRIKE]£10,016[/STRIKE] £9,690 Barclaycard [STRIKE]£11,951[/STRIKE] £11,628 CTC [STRIKE]£7,629[/STRIKE] £6,789 Mortgage £[STRIKE]182,828[/STRIKE] £171,670

Pleasure Beach may keep them entertainined but personally would recommend Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park - works out roughly the same price and just down the road. Much more to do!
Yes still do stock car racing - check out http://www.yarmouthstadium.co.uk/ for specific dates.
Julie - the waxworks is indeed the worst ever! But sadly now shutting down!
If you pick up a guide to Great Yarmouth and one to Norfolk (should be in most campsite receptions) you will find some basic money off coupons.
Fingers crossed for a lovely weekend - take a walk down the seafront (lots of resturants, sealife centre, mini golf. amusements etc) but be prepared for cost!
Finally - the best beach in the area is Gorleston which is next door to YarmouthMFW!

Hi, thanks to everyone that has taken the time to post, the info is all very handy. We are staying at a haven site in Hopton so we can use the pool etc. the donkey sanctuary sounds like fun and would definitely appeal to the girls!
Is pleasurewood hills far from Yarmouth? Any better or worse than the pleasure beach? We have decided to do a cheap day, maybe nature reserves/donkey sanctuary and then a treat day, so pleasure beach or theme park.
The £1 shops had bucket and spades, so have picked up a few, fingers crossed we might get a few hours on beach!0 -
Have a great time stinkyfeet. Let me know what the Hopton site is like as I'm going there the week after you.
