windows security essentials is all re-enabled
Microsoft security essentials? I can't see it in the logs - Only emisoft anti-malware?

    To start with:

    Disable CTFMON as follows:
    • Click Start > Control Panel
    • Double-click Regional and Language Options.
    • Click the Lanuages tab
    • Click Details...
    • Click the Advanced tab
    • Under System Configuration, check the Turn off advanced text services box
    • Click Apply > OK
    • Click Apply > OK

    Then,
    • Run HijackThis
    • Click on Main Menu
    • Click on the do a system scan only button
    • Put a check (tick) beside all 8 of the items listed below:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [High Definition Audio Property Page Shortcut] HDAShCut.exe

    Ok. Done
(Also..I meant security centre says everything is enabled.. firewall, auto updates etc, emsisoft is the virus protection)

It's only the trial version, I'll get something more permanent sorted out.

going to run ccleaner and sign off for now.. thanks for all your help

    No problem.

Is emisoft just a trial or has it been purchased?

You can probably set these services to manual or even disable them using services.msc
O23 - Service: AOL Connectivity Service
O23 - Service: Ati HotKey Poller
O23 - Service: Google Update Service
O23 - Service: Google Update Service
    O23 - Service: Skype Updater

One thing though when disabling any background auto updater - you must manually check for updates periodically. You can usually do this through the program itself.
