1. you're quoting out of context - I did say "... or oil heater..."
2. as such, YOU are being stupid and RUDE!
3. I'm sure most of us have grown up with these dangerous heaters in bathrooms and look... we've survived!

Calor gas heaters used to be a regular form of heater in the days befor CH was prevalent. As long as there is the normal ventilation you would provide for a standard gas heater then there is no problem.I'm led to believe that those kinds of heaters are unfortunately only suitable for well ventilated areas, mainly outdoors. As a campervanner, I wouldn't use one in my van, let alone in an enclosed bathroom. A real shame, as otherwise the size (and price!) wd be ideal. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Years ago we had a big red bulb thing in the bathroom which was lovely until it exploded and even though my mum thought she had got rid of all the bits, she was cut to ribbons when she later got in the bath!
Just a thought but how about getting one of those oil filled radiators - assuming that the cable is long enough to reach a plug!

This probably isn't much help at the moment however, if you have a towel radiator, you can fit an electric heating element to it. The towel radiator will still heat up via central heating in the winter months but you can also use the electric element in not so cold months when the central heating is off!

You would need a suitable electric mains supply for the element near the towel radiator.
Another option is to fit an infra-red heat lamp if you have an existing lamp fitting outside of any splash zones in the bathroom:

Tubular heater is what you want as a temporary solution, assuming you have some way of powering it, plug nearby?
