It's a scare tactic. WCF used to send letters asking you to confirm the vehicle was still in your possession - it's the same old shinola.Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000

I'm expecting to be pulled over by the police for having a "stolen car" , its not like I have stole the car or anything. but I've drove past the police dozens of times without any problems.
Hope we get something sorted Monday after I call the debt advise line. still cant believe they didn't accept £200 a week.. and a £100 payment straight away. surely any court hearings this will go in my favour.0 -
On Monday give National Debtline a ring and see what they say, pay the car finance whatever you can afford to throw at it in spite of what they say.

last time on the phone the manager said the only payment they would accept would be the full arrears. I will try and pay £100 off tommorow0 -

Unfortunately there are a lot of people who are made redundant and had absolutely no knowledge that this would happen.
Especially in large companies this info is kept at head office level until they say tell those affected.
Op are you able to make payments online? Or send a cheque?
A Judge will be more likely to see you in a better light if you make an effort to pay unless you have a counterclaim and defence to argue.Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000 -

It was common knowledge that Comet were in serious trouble for quite considerable time - that was before and after being sold for £2 or whatever it was.0 -
In that case then the finance co should have declined the OP for a HP loan because they should have known that Comet were in serious trouble and at risk of going under due to it being common knowledge.Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £20000

The OP should not have applied for finance knowing Comet were in trouble.0

comet went into administration on 2 November 2012 I bought the car in October, I was oblivious to comet entering administration otherwise I obviously wouldn't have applied for the car finance.
comet founded 1933 and still open in 2012, surely something was going right for it to be open that long, who would have guessed it would go bust?0
