Makes me so angry how companys bully customers I understand I messed up but am trying to make things right.

They are hardly bullying you. You have significant arrears - tell me, how many payments have you missed? Have you paid anything at all - if not for how long have you not paid a brass farthing? You see, a company is more likely to work with you towards an agreement when you can demonstrate that you've tried, really tried, to maintain some payments. Your attitude on the phone also makes a big difference.

People like you make me so angry - quick enough to snatch the money from any company prepared to lend it to you and then bleat and moan when they (not unreasonably!) want it back.

Also, cut the crap about not being able to get to work. You'll have to use public transport - much like those who are SAVING to buy a car.

I was out of work for 4 Months and on (Hard ship allowance) £30 a week.

I misssed 2 Months, of £250 each month, then I paid £200 then i missed another 2 Months which is now. I offered them £100 yesturday and then offered £200 every friday. They added charges for Missed payments & to get someone out to collect the car. which somehow totalled it up to £1600. My plan was to pay £50 (its something) every month which would of showed some kind of payment record but instead I paid a 1 off £200.

I Live 20 minutes away from work on the Rainford Bypass the nearest bus stop is 1 hour away from my workplace. So I would have to get the bus from mine then after 30 minutes do an exchange, after 40 minutes get off and then walk 1 hour? Are you serious? so i would have probably have to get up at 6am to start work for 9. Nevermind coming home. leave at 5 and get in for 7.

the car was £10k, I know I wont get half as much for it now of what I paid. especially if the finance company sell it. and whos to say they dont sell it for lets say £7k and tell me they got £5k for it? so am left with a huge Bill with nothing to show.

At the end of the day It is what it is, I couldnt afford the car when I got made redundant, I explained that to the car finance company, I have made a 1 off payment of £200 so it shows I have tried to pay something off the car that was all I could afford.

The point am making now is , yes fine I took the car out on finance when i should of saved up, but I can EASILY afford it back then. Now I am back in Work I can Manage £250 a month from my £989 a month wages. (£230 a week), all i I WANT to do now is get back on track and up-to-date offering £200 a week.

Its not like I had the money and not paid them anything!

Is your work within cycling distance? Or maybe a moped of some sort? If so, you might be able to be shot of the car and still get to work so you wouldn't lose your job.

Let them take the car and do with it what they will, then use your spare monthly £250.00 plus whatever you can borrow from family members to buy yourself a cheap and cheerful Corsa, either from Ebay or another classified.

Before you buy, get someone who knows about cars to check it out for you so that you don't end up with expensive garage bills.

Basically, you've overstretched yourself, and you need to learn from the experience.

problem is , if they take the car they still require the outstanding balance which will be approx £7k and they will want me to make £250.00 a month so i wont have a spare £250 a month

But, they can't force you to pay that money.

They will trash your credit history, but the only way they will get money off you is by going to court and getting a CCJ and you could well end up paying a tenner a month if that is what the judge decides you can afford.

I have now written a letter head office of credit management and will await a reply and keep you guys up-to-date.

I know this is my own fault but it was pretty much ineditable on how my life just panned out. looseing job after job , bills after bills.

the worst thing is just after I pick my self up off the ground, I get knocked back over. I mean am now on £12k NET pay a year and can afford all my bills if the car does go back my job is pretty much gone and am back left in a big hole.

How i would love to just win the lottery :D

I walked to work everyday for 4 years, 90 mins each way on my own at age 18, and I started at 0700 on an early shift, and I managed not to die from doing this. For you it would not be for that long , just long enough to save up for an affordable car, better to do it in summer rather than winter, believe me. Another option would be, if any colleagues live near you to get a lift and contribute to their fuel costs, loads of my colleagues do this and the Trust encourage it because of limited car parking spaces.
