If they were a bargin, paying half the extra cost would be fair.

Postage costs is an increasing problem.

They arrived and were in ok condition for the price i paid..so far so good..

Then the emails started, getting more and more nasty demanding that i paid etc. I kept saying that it was their choice to use an expensive method of carriage and it wasnt right just to expect me to pay effectively a third more for them :(

In the end i complained to Ebay using the live chat- they said it must have been an honest mistake by the seller and if i was an honest buyer i would just pay the difference  not at all bothered by the nastiness i have had.

So ive paid the difference and left my first ever negative in 18 years :( feel tearful and shaky as i would never have bought the bloomin things IF the real price had been stated- i'm tempted just to chuck them in a charity shop as i cant face wearing them after all of this. I'm a good buyer who always pays instantly and isnt pushy for immediate delivery yet feel like i've been punished for something that wasnt my fault :(

I am really sorry OP but this is going to be harsh.

Why bother posting on here if you are going to ignore everyones sound and correct advice ?

And as for putting them in a charity shop, well that's even more ridiculous ! Since you paid more for them, there is even more reason to get as much use out of them as you can !

You didn't owe it, you didn't need to pay it and weren't 'punished for something that wasn't your fault'.

A deal is a deal - basic Ebay T&Cs. If you hadn't paid they would only want the amount you owed not £7.92 extra ! But get realistic, it's not worth getting all worried over eight quid !

Good luck in your future ebay dealings OP and remember being a good buyer is always valued by the majority of sellers but never pay more than the legally agreed price !

No it would not, OP was wrong to have paid, if a seller can't work out how to cover their costs on ebay they should not be selling.

But it is set by the seller not the buyer.

Postage can be a deal breaker, if the seller make a mistake then that is down to them.

Paying half the extra cost is not fair because then sellers will start purposely under estimating the postage and claiming it was an 'honest mistake' !

And to use your words, they wouldn't be a 'bargain' anymore if you have to stump up extra hidden costs.

Honest buyer would pay what they bid for and nothing more.

Live chat and knowing what they are doing. JOKE???

I doubt some of them even use ebay never mind know how it works.

I do wonder if live chat is out sourced.
