Ebay's Live Chat are not of this world and constantly give any old carp to get rid of the person asking the question.
There is absolutely NOTHING more they could have had 'in front of them' that would ever allow a seller to change the postage after the listing was bought.0 -
I think a few sellers have come a cropper in the last week or two, as postage prices have gone up. (A friend got stung selling some shoes too, but hopefully not this pair!) Price rises or no, that's no excuse to break a deal.0

I guess they can at least see the OP's feedback/history which is more than we can, all this 'honest mistake' 'honest buyers would' etc:money:0 -
This is a bit off. Even if postage prices have gone up recently, that is not the fault of the buyer who has agreed to pay a set amount. It is up to the seller to check how much the postage will cost and quote accordingly, and not just assume that the postage applicable 5 years ago will be applicable forever. This was the seller's fault and the 2nd time lucky should not have paid the extra postage - especially as you knew the boots had already been sent0

Eh? It is NOTHING to do with honesty.
Show me where in Ebay T&C that it says we should take 'feedback' into account when the seller changes the postage price after a listing has finished.
The buyer has not been dishonest. The buyer has (IMHO) been a fool to pay the additional charge.
But the bigger fool, is the one who thinks this is correct and may be based on 'other things'.0 -
Glad to see that post was removed. Some people should refrain from making libellous allegations and try and understand how these things work.

Absolutely not, the advice given to many of us on here over the years would have lost us our accounts. They barely know how it works at all and I would trust the advice of most of the people on here rather than eBay.
OP, I'm sorry, I think you have been very badly advised and I would be complaining back to eBay loudly, and often at the appalling advice you were given and about the fact that they think harassment from a seller is acceptable.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You do realise that by ebays own t&c`s you sign up for that asking for any more money over and above what is in the listing is not allowed and can get a seller a policy strike on their account should the buyer choose to report the seller.I guess they can at least see the OP's feedback/history which is more than we can, all this 'honest mistake' 'honest buyers would' etc:money:
I would not have paid in this instance and every message that i received that was abusive i would have reported and filed a report against the seller for breaking said t&c`s.0
