Hi guys, Im still looking. The ones that seem the most stable for his weight are also the bulkiest and heaviest naturally so its a dilemma.
Saw a nice one this morning which only just covers his weight.
I shall have to measure Ralph though because some of them cover his weight level but when you look at the internal dimensions they just dont seem big enough for him to lay down. I wonder if they are intended for carrying say 2 small dogs rather than one fat lump. The photos all tend to have no dog in them or a cutie or a pair of cuties.
My goodness there is a niche in the market for the UK if anyone is up to filling it - for larger dog strollers.0 -
Hi,
dont know if anyone has posted these yet but they might do the trick. You could carry one handle each or you might be able to put it on one of those light weight folding suitcase wheelly things if you know what I mean. this one here or this one here
Found a good trolley thing here With a bit of made to measure wood/steel/plastic it might do the job. Hope this helps.

Bless you for looking at those
Id had a look at the carriers (do they really sell those at £75 each!! before discount) and Im just a bit concerned how heavy it would be carrying him around in it say in a town situation or in the countryside.
So grateful to everyone though
I found a lovely petzip first class jogger and a Dogger stroller - right weight and easy to fold down and carry but of course, not available in the UK. May be we should start a business people!0 -
I know you were not keen on a stroller type unit, but I thought I would share this with you: http://www.viovet.co.uk/Pet_Store_Items-Dogs-Strollers-Pet_Gear_All_Terrain_3_Wheel_AT3_Roadster_Stroller_Push_Chair_for_Dogs/c158_3263_2068_8265/category.html We bought one for our French Bulldog, but they carry substantially sized, large dogs up to 100lbs or 45kg and do not actually look like a pram - more like the units behind cycles and have large, decent all-terrain type wheels. Lovely unit, we are very happy with ours.
EDIT: I see you found something you like, thats great. Will leave my link in case it helps anyone else.0 -
Hi there, no Ive still not found the right thing. I contacted the dogger and petzip people in Canada and its not viable to buy from there.
Now your stroller was the first one I looked at and liked and two people happened to be selling second hand ones on ebay - about £50 plus postage. I saw various sites have this model for £120 ish including postage, so I didnt rush.
NOW, the worry is that the unit is so big and weighs so much it wont fit in the car boot as it doesnt fold flat. I also read reviews that said it can be unstable if the dog moves to one side?0 -
This is really not cheap, but takes up to 75kg so when you/OH get tired of pushing pooch around, take it in turns to hop in yourself :rotfl:

It says on this page that it folds up to 20% of size and is lightweight

I agree though there seems to be a gap in the market for a carrier for medium/large dogs.0 -
The Dogger people are planning on opening distribution outlets in about a year here they told me. (Course, I dont spose that "Dogger" has the same shocking connotations in Canada as England- I didnt realise until I googled www.doggers!! I wonder if I should mention it to the canadian manufacturers)0
