Have you thought aboot something like this - or adapt your own ?
http://www.k9carts.com/
That's along the lines of what I was thinking when I wondered if it was front / back legs.
I wondered if something like this may help https://www.dogmobile-online.com/product/dogharness - you could take some of his bodyweight which would hopefully help him go a bit further.
I did find an absolutely fantastic one but it was really expensive which is why I asked about budget!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -
It's a bit more expensive, but would something like this work? Holds dogs up to 21kg.

Hi, its his back legs, one complete paw missing one side and only about a quarter of a paw left on the other side.
Many thanks everyone. I guess the fact is most of these carriers are meant for toy size pooches. The big pram type things are so bulky and you cant fold them down flat
. OH nearly had a heart attack carrying the boy round Penzance for over an hour in hot weather last year - and I said to him, never again. But it looks like we shall just have to go back to the sitting on a bench and taking turns to do sight seeing.
Oh and thanks, spooky. I have thought about getting a shopping trolley or something and trying to adapt it but of course they tend to be narrow and high and wouldnt allow him to sit comfortably.
If you're not going to be able to find a rucksack and are looking for a drag along trolley (as opposed to a pushchair style carrier!) then how about one of these - should be OK with a nice blanket inside.

Loads to choose from on Amazon - an example of one... http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007AGNGGM/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=103612307&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B005EXJ9IW&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0E6WDBYPDE4HNH01K5XD
Cheaper on ebay (included Amazon link so you can read reviews)

Do you think your dog would like these?

Or I wonder if a toddler backpack could be made comfortable enough for your dog?But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Random thought!!
You see those little child carriers attached to the back of push bikes - they should be able to take a pretty heavy dog! Might be worth seeing if they would suit? Just an idea!0 -
Hi everyone, thanks so much for your kind help.
We spent £600 on his prosthetic feet! But he can only wear them for short periods really - the mobile dog harness/wheels would not be suitable for him. They are very unweildy if you have ever tried them and it would be a real pain to have to carry something that big and awkward about in case we had to walk on hard ground.
I showed OH some of the air craft type carriers but he said the small wheels wouldnt work on rough ground.
I think I like the look of the Go Pet stroller which can be used as a carrier with handles or with the wheels. It does actually say its clearly a pet carrier and for those who dont want passers by to think they have a baby issue
And the wheels close flat so that they can be put in the car or carried by the handle.
I am going to work on OH a bit more about it as unless you have had the problem yourself you cannot imagine how very restrictive it is when you are on hols particularly.0 -

I know you were not too keen on the buggy style, but this gets good reviews.0 -

We bought this one for our lovely TJ, it was great and gave him the chance to spend his last days out and about.
Hubby said I am not going out with that, but he did once he saw how it gave our boy a rest when he got tired.
I am so glad we bought it, and would recommend it to anyone. It folds up flat as well and has a waterproof cover, we added TJ's own little blanket for comfort..
If you live near Doncaster you are welcome to use it x
Ps another plus we found was we were welcome in many more places with TJ in the stroller including cafes, which was nice on a rainy day to go indoors for a warm drink.RIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxxHe is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.0 -
Oh everyone, its so kind of you to put so much into helping us.
Chris, bless you but we are a long way from Doncaster, very touched by the thought though xx0 -
