I bought a lovely half price yankee candle in Clintons yesterday for my xmas stash, there were lots of 50% reductions and some gifts were three for two. Not seen the candle that I bought before its called childrens wishes.

have to go and have a peep, I've had childrens wishes as a wax tart, and its a mild smell quite subtle, if you have had clean cotton or wedding ??? its all on that style.

Another big vote for the Argos clearance, - I do the log into my local store, and have some bargains, its always worth checking as they have been adding items and reducing some items.

    Just been intonight-
Union Jack trolley case - £17 (half price)
matching pull along case - £12
    Emma Bunton - girls tshirt - 99p
    Emma Bunton - boys tshirt - £1.49
    9in pink personal DVD player - £45
stero system with ipd dock - £45 (half price)

Worked out well as some were xmas prezzies that my mother wanted, xx

    Hi all,

Made 9 500g jars of Piccalilli today to add to the chill jam I made last weekend.

Some of these will become part of Christmas gifts for family - some for us.

Bit annoyed at my DB, its our mum,s 70th Christmas eve, DB has asked us to go halves on a Kitchen A!d mixer for her at £300 - we just can,t afford it... They have a much higher family income than us and I would like to have had the choice, but they,ve already bought the bloomin thing:mad: not sure how to play this one:o

Back to Xmas, got some good bargin,s at the works including a curry,s of the world cookbook for DS1 (19) who is curry mad :D don,t know if he,ll use it, hopeing to inspire him into learning to cook
Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

    £300/£130

Something similar happened to me last year. I went with, 'Oh I wish you had asked me before you bought it. I have already bought and wrapped all my presents.' It wasn't strictly true, but near enough.

Just say "Sorry, you should have checked, we already bought her gift" what a cheek though!

  • We also do Christmas elf in our house, he is called Binky. He arrives on 1st December and brings my 2 dd advent calendars and then he goes home on Christmas eve with father Christmas. My girls love him being here as he gets up mischief most nights for example wraps toilet roll around the Christmas tree, hangs pants on the Christmas tree, spells their names out on the worktop with cheerios etc.

He watches the girls behaviour during December and reports back to father Christmas and he leaves them small presents most days if they have been good. The Crafty Crocodiles website is brilliant for small gifts and they have loads of Christmas craft sets at really low prices, well worth a look.

My partner was really embarrassed last year when my dd's teacher asked who Binky was as my dd had been telling her what he had been up to :D

On Christmas eve Binky leaves their Christmas eve hamper which has new PJ's, hot choc, popcorn, a magic key for father Christmas to get in the house, the night before Christmas book and a family game that we all can play. On Christmas eve night the girls say goodbye to Binky and then off he goes until the next year :)

  • We celebrate Nikolaus in our house, the 6th of December is St.Nicholas day and we picked up the tradition when we lived in Germany for a few years when the girls were younger. The tradition in europe is to put out a shoe on the front doorstep and in the morning of the 6th it has been filled with sweets, nuts and clementines by the elves if you have been good all year, and not if you haven't! It's something we've carried on with even though they are all grown up and living in thier own homes, the elves know the postal addresses and seem to manage to send some nice things in padded envelopes every year and it's still a nice thing to do! Cheers Lyn xxx.
